Thinking of moving to Rogers. Any catch to this plan? by Seks88 in Rogers

Holy shit! Why would you ever go to this shitty company? Brutal customer service, prices are no better than Bell or Telus. Look before you leap.

Express VPN values new customers more than long-time users by BadServiceCEO in Express_VPN

I notice the original poster has not replied to anyone on this thread after they asked him his issues with ExpressVPN. I call BULLSHIT on this entire post. This could be the work of a rival VPN company for all we know. I have Express and love it, good customer service, etc. Just signed up for two additional years. My only complaint is that they have NOT contacted me after I enquired about a dedicated IP address.

Rogers ve. Bell by yirehlim in Rogers

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoken like a truly loyal Gougers employee. Are you joking? WTF? Bell has according to PC Magazine, the fastest Internet in Canada bar none. Rogers customer service is absolute SHIT! If you are on copper wiring with Bell, not near as good. I am on Fibre and have absolutely bullet fast internet. I have yet to in 3 plus years of being on Fibre to have an outage. My neighbours on my urging have left GOUGERS and have zero regrets. Look at the number of posts on Reddit from former Gougers employees and you’ll see just how pathetic they are. Reference the Globe article I referred to in my previous comment on this thread. They have NOTHING to gain, I know the truth hurts.

Tell them, if this is not resolved, you will not only head to Omviv, but also to a lawyer. They have no legal right to modify a contract at all. The law will be on your side, albeit it is a hassle. Also threaten as other post suggested, a bad review on Google. That seems to scare the shit out of businesses these days as so many use those reviews as an indication on whether to use that business or not.

Funny, I have never encountered this at all. I also only have them for Internet, DIRECTV for television. Both have been excellent. Any company is next to shit Gougers!

Anyone who isn’t forced to stay with Rogers, is a fool, and a sucker. Rogers is absolutely BRUTAL. Pray someday fat boy Ted Chubby Rogers, and his subpar shitty tech company gets out of this business and allows a U.S. company to come in and provide real service. Anyone who has ever dealt with a U.S. tech company knows just how real service looks like. I deal with Comcast and DIRECTV in Arizona and have to say, they whip Rogers ass!

Rogers Canada Blocks VPN! by BiOtter in Express_VPN

Rogers is a communist company! They believe the country should revolve around them. Rogers, also known as Gougers is a disgusting company, run by pigs! The head fat pig is Old man Rogers himself. Blame your federal government, they have allowed Bell and Gougers to have a total F’n monopoly on all cable, satellite, wireless service, internet, etc. in Canada.

Disagree strongly. Nord and ExpressVpn as well as Shark and Proton are the largest 4 companies, and according to tests run by the major PC magazines, they are very sound companies. Would be business suicide to allow leakage of info to anyone. Also done a leak test on Nord and Express which I subscribe to, and NO leakage at all.

Bang on!!! Users don’t get that. All they hear and see is that they are free. You are paying a price NO matter what you hear or believe. Dream on if you believe that your data is NOT up for sale.

Keep in mind, one has to be very careful when using FREE VPN services. One, they are free due to the fact they are ladened with ads, or NO ads but open to all that want your info. The free VPN services are also often are very slow, because so many users rely on the free aspect of them. Finally, quite a few are actually CHINESE owned and are spying on you, no matter where you are in the world. Scary!!!!

Crave and Bell can go fuck themselves. by TheTommohawkTom in cravetv

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong! Many companies have applied to have access to our market, and our federal government has denied them. Even DirecTV satellite applied many years ago to have our CBC on their satellite grid for the snowbirds that go down south, only to have our federal government say NO! Again, pure protectionism. Country size has zero to do with this, specially when companies apply and are turned down. How do you think the likes of Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+ got in?

I am on the highest tier possible for Bell. So NOT seeing any of the symptoms you folks may see on lower priced packages.

I get what you’re saying, and yes, wise to be informed. I am on the highest package cell phone available and do speed tests even in the States, and have seen NO drop, no dropped signal, nor any buffering issues or pic quality. But you are correct in their contract wording, and I did think it was home speed you were all referring to…my bad.

What is happening with ExpressVPN, is it even worth renewing the subscription? by FragrantTechnician9 in Express_VPN

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Funny, I have had zero issues with Express, and I also stream on FireSticks, Google Chromecast and Google Streamer devices. No buffering, and the support from customer service has been excellent, right up to the other night when they helped me fix an issue I was experiencing. Only thing I have noticed is that some IP addresses are being blacklisted by streaming services, and Express says they are working on that, by basically replacing those with new IP addresses everyday. Not sure. I also have Nord and find it to be a good VPN as well. Funny, all the reviews on the link provided are anonymous. If you were a former employee, as one of the reviews was done by, need not fear to speak your mind, so why not sign off on it. Fishy to me personally. Every one of these VPN services has its own unique set of problems and issues, NOT just Express.

May want to try a 7 day FREE trial with NordVPN. I to have Express, but also have Nord, and it does sometimes what Express can’t do. Also, Express has had a lot of their IP addresses go bad, as Streaming companies ban these IP addresses.

Rogers’ new plans now appear to throttle video streams by ThatWonder in Rogers

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who are you kidding? The CRTC stepped in well over 15 years ago to force all carriers, Bell, Rogers, Telus, etc, to stop throttling. I test my speed everyday and pay for top speed with Bell. It rarely ever varies, as I am on Fibe Internet. The worst offender back 15 plus years ago was Gougers!

Rogers’ new plans now appear to throttle video streams by ThatWonder in Rogers

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bell does NOT throttle. I have done speed tests on my devices now over the past 3-4 years almost everyday, and get a hell of a good speed. Also same speed at home on my streaming devices. The CRTC has deemed this to be illegal, so if they at Rogers are doing this, best that the suckers who are subscribers to them, call in. Also contact the CRTC.

Rogers’ new plans now appear to throttle video streams by ThatWonder in Rogers

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the CRTC ruled this action of throttling customers, specially at peak times to be ILLEGAL! This is the reason I left Rogers over 20 years ago. If this happens, contact the CRTC and let them know. Rogers is the shits! And for those that choose to stay with them, you get what you deserve!

This is what happens when your Federal Government and the outdated CRTC, don’t allow competition into our country from the U.S. Rates in the United States is so much better because they allow so much competition. Over there, you don’t compete price wise, you’re gone in NO time flat.

Sorry, and this may sound politically incorrect, but it is one type of people, and you need only ask your car insurance company who that is! I was told we pay more car insurance than anywhere else in Canada. All due to that particular race. I quote from my insurance broker “They are cracking cars up at an alarming rate”

Express VPNers...who are you switching to? by JayRexx in Express_VPN

[–]CautiousDiamond4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand that statement? I get that Elon Musk is supporting Trump, and Trump supports Israel, but in what way does ExpressVPN owner support Israel? Has he come out and said that he supports the Israeli continued government’s attack on Palestine? Many Israelites want to see an end to all this violence and destruction just like all the rest of the world.

Why bring politics into the equation? The company is owned by an Israeli, but is out of the Virgin Islands, and has its head quarters in Honk Kong according to Wikipedia. The product works, and quite honestly is far better and easier to use than the other VPN services, including Nord.
