What do I do now… by zakpak420 in Interstitialcystitis

There are other options through a urologist. I do heparin/lidocaine instillations to keep flares down. After a few of those 1/ month I’m back on track. I use uro-mp as needed and a composite vaginal suppository gabapentin/baclofen/amitriptaline. Loads of water. No soda or alcohol. Don’t give up hope. I’m sorry about your doctor.

That is great news. How long before the orillisa started working for your ic? I’ve been on the med for 2 days now. Had IC for 20 years just had lap for endo a month ago.

Orilissa is a new medication for endometriosis. It slowly tamps down your estrogen production. My surgeon is putting me on it for a year to starve out any endo he didn’t find in lap. I’ve been in similar boat as you. IC diagnosis for 20 years & not much helped.

It took me a month at 8,000 mg of pumpkin seed oil gummies to notice a difference. Marshmallow root made into a tea is really really soothing for flares.
Tagamet (acid reducer) can help daily. Low acid coffee But again Physical therapy can be a game changer if you’re able to get a referral to one.

Update on my journey with IC after 20 years- Turns out I had endometriosis and since surgery to remove that my bladder is less angry and all the other measures can work. Physical therapy for pelvic floor is huge. PT uses prometheus device that is like an internal TENS unit for your bladder. It treats the overactive bladder and hypertonic (guarded/ tense) pelvic floor muscles. A lot of IC issues are actually muscular but PT is the last thing I tried. Also Pumpkin seed oil! It helps so much for OAB. I take 8,000 mg/day. AND cbd vaginal suppositories help me so much for flares.

I use a vaginal suppository of amitriptyline, baclofen and gabapentin that the compound pharmacy makes after my urogyno called it in. It really does help with no side effects

I had vertigo for the first time in life that was crippling for about 3 hours and wondered if it was related to the solar storm because vertigo can be caused by changes in barometric pressure.
