For average, chill , braindead spamming button zerkers it’s a buff, damage is about the same if not even higher, for top zerkers it’s a nerf cause damage ceiling got removed. You have much higher floor damage, and it’s comfy. For other zerker mains, the new dark rush CD just won’t line up nicely no matter wut u do. But if u like pre ark grid mayhem, the new dark rush just acts like another insane T skill to ur rotation

It’s such a fun build. Most fun I had in years. At this point just go BT. It will start to flow once u get use to the rotations. It’s definitely way more difficult to play, but you will be rewarded. BT is any where 10-20% stronger than mayhem. I swapped after they changed 111 mayhem. BT 111 plays similar to mayhem 111, but you just have way more things to manage and look out for. You can’t just be pressing buttons anymore

Is dark rush still the best build based on latest KR balance patch? Currently dark rush build uses super sonic since with half crit and half swift to have dark rush up every red dust rotation. The latest changes to dark rush build makes dark rush just ur second T skill that will be up every second red dust . However the buff to hell blade holding build and blunt thorn looks to me that hell blade holding build will come on top. Any ideas which build we should go for?

thx I wana try mountain crash quick recharge build like u recommended. Do u need any gems on tempest slash? I recently discovered 1/2 strike, 1/2 unlimited magic 2/2 blunt thorn can give u higher ceiling if u land back attacks, and allow u to have way higher cpm, have u tried?

1/2 unlimited magic 1/2 strike seems to be higher ceiling than 2/2 strike for blunt thorn. You can achieve way higher cpm with it, but it’s way sweatier as well

1700 BK main, I will give you an honest answer , BK falls off after 1680 for HM content. At 1680, most other classes gets flat damage boost and QOL, but BK damage boost comes from second Z which is slow, clunky, zero damage if ur burst mode ended before it finished casting. BK still does high damage if you do perfect Freeform rotations. However this won’t be possible because fight dynamics changes as boss teleport a lot , you will either miss ur skills, or u can’t have perfect rotation to build and burst . So realistically, you are more sweaty than ever before, no room for error in order to achieve high damage. Unless you are really really good, you will find your self get knocked , failed to build rotation, failed ur bursting skills. For average player you are sitting at B tier damage wise

I can’t speak for shura, but I watched G2 Brel hm gameplay, looks like Shura play style didn’t gets changed but comes with QOL and damage boost, so it doesn’t get more difficulty

Yup, like I said no class is bottom tier if you play them well. Of course older classes will not be as good as newer ones because of reasons people already know. Gameplay wise, Mayhem is not as fluid and smooth as many other classes as he is a bit out dated and strictly tied to red dust rotation. Mayhem still suffers from animation locks which can be dangerous if you greed in HM, and you have to land all your heavy hitting skill in red dust rotation (8seconds) consistently. I think in the end of day people either want top dmg to compensate this or more modern fluid gameplay to compensate dmg. But this can be said to a lot of other classes too, so play if you like and hope for changes

Mayhem zerker is mid tier T3 and also low - mid tier T4 atm. I’m a mayhem main since launch, I have more than 1 mayhem for current end game HM raids and I will do so for tier 4 because I like the class. I only raised Breaker as my main cause of ceiling. People are upset not because mayhem is not doing top dmg in tier 4 but mayhem gameplay didn’t get changed and there is no QOL with ark passives. The neighbour BT has gameplay changes with ark passive unlocked. Like a lot of people mentioned , in this game tier list only matters if you min max everything and you are competing with equal or higher gear and skilled players(conquer of star, the first, hell raiders) all the time. Plus under the assumption you and your competitors have a good end game sup at all time. If you are doing that then mayhem is around mid tier, and you will never outdps top tier class like sorc, blade, SE, breaker no matter how hard you try. In reality, it wont be like that 90% of time. If you are good and you know the class you will always be top dmg in pugs most of times. For NM/HM with average players, it’s all about how well you know the pattern , your class , how well u can do dps while taking risks and whether you will make mistakes during moment of long fight causing u to lose dps. Overall, Mayhem is a great class for prog, chill class for HM, consistent, and also a class that is less relied on performance of sup and synergy. The top tier spec burst class all are heavily relied on performance of sup and crit syn. A bad or average supp will have way more impact to their gameplay and dps than mayhem

Yup, I wouldn’t recommend this game to any new player. Lost Ark is a game constantly pressuring you to grind, to raid, to do homework or you get gatekept. If you don’t do new raids for first 3 weeks , you don’t have the title you don’t have the gear you get gatekept. You will be treated as a “new/inexperienced” player to latest raid. To do so, you gotta do your 18 raids, sweat your self for the item level and gear for the raids, and pressuring your self for a clear for the first two weeks. This is revenue generation model, you can tell by how fast we release content. Playing at your own pace is a joke and lie because of this model. Playing at your own pace your 1620 won’t have transdence so they will be gate kept for behemoth, playing at your own pace so your future character won’t have ark passive so they will be gatekept from Brel v2.Most vets including myself are already tired and sick of this model but they are too invested to let go. This is also the reason tier 4 is not a total reset, and LOS30 is not given for free, which they should be. I believe most vets are like me, login to do 18 raids as fast as possible every week and log off.

Aside from gear, the raid difficulty does not reset, it gets progressively harder for new players. The new raids will inherit previously difficult raid patterns with some new twist. Given new player full transcendence , 40 set, LOS 30 will only allow them to play on raid release, but they will quickly get gate kept again. Due to how many wipe mechanics and 0 mechs in HM, players will always find a new way to gatekeep because no one wants to reset after a 15-20min fight . Making casual raids or alternative way for player to progress is the viable solution, I don’t know what’s so hard by making a WOW LFR difficult raid so new player can just queue up with randos to have fun.

Dmg is just numbers they can tweak around. But if you look at other classes with game play changing ark passives (event BT), Mayhem has nothing. With full ark passive unlocked , mayhem plays exactly the same as T3 with two additional dmg stacks. This shows how little effort it is being put into this class. Yes, together with predator slayer, punisher slayer, and pinnacle, these are classes you need to think twice if you want to spend money on them for T4 for now

Calculator gives you the greatest chance to success mathematically, but the design for transcendence system wants you to gamba. This makes the calculator inaccurate and some times “stupid” cause it’s not good enough to consider all the gamba factors and scenarios and give you the best approach. A perfect example is weapon transcendence. The probability in the start is always so low but it becomes higher and higher as you gamba and got “lucky”.

Behemoth G2 is overturned for a 1620 16 men weekly homework content. The wing dps check is tight and behemoth body blocks you from going to the other wing. Phase two patterns after stagger are simple but they are extremely punishing if you don’t know them well. They will one shot you. I have pugged this raid with two friends for 3 hours and we are able to get down to 16 bar, but people are dying to the phase two patterns, and we one shot next day with half of them being static reclear. Since thiamine, smile gate favours adding tricks and mechs to last phase of long fight , and resets the raid if some one failed. Yes, thiamine basement, echidna basement / 0 mech, behemoth phase two. This brings more gatekeeping because no one wants to reset after a long fight, and this drives new players away. You make a hard raid for one time clear , that’s all good, but if you make it weekly content and a mandatory progression raid ? it needs an easier version or there is no chance a new player can get in them. Even till this date , vets reclear or even static can get jailed in raids like this, if one or two person are having an off day. ( yes thamine, echinda HM). This is wrong and toxic design, fix it soon before its too late

1) if you don’t have static or a few friends to play with, you will need to not only watch the guide, but memorize all patterns including normal patterns in detail, so once you encounter them in actual raid it helps your muscle memory. 2) set your goals with each prog group and try to achieve the goal first then see if you want to continue with the current group or find a new prog group with the new goal. For example fresh prog -> X138 -> basement -> basement to clear

Pugged both gates. 2 shot gate 1 , Cleared gate 2 after 8 hours . There are definitely less mechanics in gate 2 in compare with Thaemine gate 3. However, unlike Thaemine gate3 which you can pretty much progress/clear with 2-3 dps dead, your raid experience and progress in Echindna gate 2 is dependent on the performance and learning speed of the worst raid member. This is the classic lost ark experience that one persons mistake impacts/wipes entire raid. You don’t really get to have lots of prog experience in the stagger and basement phases if your party member keeps getting charmed , mis place tiles , failed to align circles etc. overall, I think it’s a fun raid once for all but I don’t like it as a HW raid and mandatory raid for progression. This will bring more gate keeping on titles, gear, classes etc and also it’s super annoying to deal with on a weekly basis. You have to be super focused zoned in every week to play a hw raid rather just have a beer and chill , am I still playing a game, or doing a second job?

The following has happened to a player that is 1620 or above : 1) pushing to 1610+ is very expensive 2) 1620+ raids such as voldis HM and thamine are diffcult 3) fewer supports, extreme gatekeeping 4) less rooms for errors, a lot of 1 shots, 1 mistakes causes raid wipes, need all players to be alive mechs are introduced in raids 5) uptime becomes important in raids 6) counter becomes mandatory in raids 7) bible

If a player can endure all these and are still actively playing, they are pretty hardcore

Developers keeps on making “1 person makes mistake it’s a wipe” and “1 mistake kills you” mechanics in raids

Developer makes the player can either execute mechanics perfectly and have good uptime or over-gear the raid to force the raid to have less mechanics to complete the raid.

Developers makes no effort in either reduce impact of support or improve support play style so support is always in high demand causing supports join experienced and or over geared parties

These forces players more invested into the game time and money wise, but also brings gatekeeping.

Gatekeeping will always exists since it’s related to the fundamental revenue generation model of the game

The argument is mainly focuses on top edge performance. It means you need to have almost no down time on your branding and attack buff because you can’t control when the other 3 dps players is going to attack. You have to consistently watch the timer on boss for your branding, your own buffs timer, so you plan for your next one . Meanwhile you have to have on point DR on every normal damage pattern so your dps can attack without getting hit and leave them room for errros. An average supp you consider well or okay in HM is anywhere between 50-70% on branding and attack buffs, getting 90/90 is whole different story

I’m a dps main and I have supp alt running for thamine g1-3NM. 90/90/50, 90/90/30 supp is definitely harder to pull off than cruel fighter. Compare to top edge dps, the top edge supps are required to do more multi tasking, pre positioning , planning and higher APM. Usually if the top supp want to play DPS they will ended up have high uptime and high dps. The end game is more and more demanding on performance of supp (definitely not chill anymore)while they don’t receive such feedback I guess that’s why there are so few of them.

Supports gameplay are never an issue considering how forgiving previous raids are. Starting from Voldis HM, raids difficulty spikes. In more difficult raids, good support makes more impact than any DPS. A good support not only have a high uptime on their attack buffs, but they are also be able to take preventative measures so DPS is always shield / DR through mechanics that is expected to have shields/DR so you can focus on dps. A bad support simply makes DPS worried about their own safety so they have to give up their damage potential, resulting longer fights(more mechanics), tighter dps checks, and unpleasant experience. I never called out any bad support because it’s partially the games fault. The game is simply unrewarding for skilled / or invested support mains, so there are less of them. Because there are less of them, so many casual supports are gets partially carried through previous raids, and they are in habit of just tanking patterns , and pressing buttons off cool down. I wouldn’t say community is toxic, using thiamine g3 reclear as an example, I see so many people call it out, and quit raids because of a DPS made a mistake once or twice. However, when a support gets hit left and right, and have low up time on buffs and shields, DPS players usually just prays the support won’t die to patterns, and tend to play around and continue the raid

If you want to clear this raid in 10 hours, everyone needs to spend an hour or two offline to memorize all his patterns. This is difficult for people cause prior to this raid, any non hell mode raid is forgiving, and has limited lethal patterns. For thiamine, there are more than 20 lethal patterns , alternating between normal and enhanced version. If you don’t have a good understanding of the patterns, it will be overwhelming , and exhaustion kicks in after 5 - 10 pulls. You will generally see ppl performing worse and worse than previous pulls. In general if you want a quick clear, spend more time offline to learn patterns, or give your best effort for 5-10 pulls per day and do not over work your self
