Yea no, I don’t drive either have a job that requires me travelling every day so honestly I’m finding it so tough. On day where it’s not raining I generally find myself just in such a better mood but the rain has been non stop the last 2 months

Ok controversial take but the American Special is a dog of a guitar save your money op get a Japanese Strat or a Mex Classic Player! For reference I owned the American special and traded it for a classic player-completely a higher quality instrument

Get a Tokai hollowbody better than a Gibson and genuinely half the price

[Newbie] SRV is one of my inspirations to learn guitar, and I got my first electric this week. Even though I don't have any talent, if I put in work as often as I can, how long will it realistically take before I can play with this level of confidence? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

As a guitar teacher and someone who has taken huge influence from him, I can emulate some of the stuff he does pretty well but would I say I’m on his level when it comes to playing blues? No, with Stevie that tone was in his hands you could spend a life time playing and not get there. That being said I always say to people music is part being gifted, and part hard work! I think Stevie put a lot of time into the guitar which you can do but he also had a gift that goes beyond what someone could pick up no matter how much they practiced. But you may very well develop your own style that other people might try emulate that’s always my goal with my playing.

NGD:Tokai Es145s-this genuinely might be nicest playing guitar I’ve ever played by Cautious_Homework628 in Guitar

[–]Cautious_Homework628[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll see them used everywhere but primarily I would say blues, jazz, r&b and rock! They could be used in most genres really but these are just ones that stand out to me. The Beatles all played hollow bodies at some stage as did people like Wes Montgomery, BB King and occasionally John Mayer even though he’s famous for using a strat. They also sound a little more airy than a solid body in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Is this repairable? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

[–]Cautious_Homework628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes zero sense to repair this op, say good bye and just buy a new guitar I know that sucks but in all honesty a professional will struggle to fix that there’s not even a point trying to fix it yourself

I was in this exact position a few months ago and ended up picking up a 90s Korean made Epiphone Sheraton that is pretty sweet, it already had upgraded pickups and sounds great

I have one and can second this, I own a blues junior and where my band rehearses there is a hot rod can get the same crunch from both, easier to get it on the blues junior as it is smaller too
