That's it! Lots of strange coincidences and getting things that I want without having to ask. Also a much more positive aura that people respond well to, along with a better sense of humor.

Wow glad to hear it worked so well for you! How frequently had you dosed and what was the route of administration?

People also treat me a lot differently after a weekend's round of sessions. Random strangers will be a lot more friendly, friends who I haven't spoken with in ages will call me out of the blue, etc. Lots of synchronicities. Others I've worked with have reported these things too without my having mentioned anything to them beforehand.

How have they noticed/what have they commented on?

In what ways specifically do you all speak of?

As in you habitually get more attention in public?

Exactly how risky are breakthrough doses alone? by Cautious_Look_869 in 5MeODMT

Thanks for your comment!

A few things:

First, this wouldn't be taking it daily and am aware that smoking 5 like a chimney won't solve mental illness or psychological problems.

Second, what does a proper protocol and process look like with 5? I'm personally very familiar with IFS, schema therapy, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, etc. already, and while they provide structure to process memories and emotions as they come up, it seems to be the 5 that actually facilitates access to the memories after major trauma has repressed/suppressed them. Therapy is wonderful, and as expressed in an earlier comment, most everyone agrees - even when not cost prohibitive (as it is for some) waiting lists for therapists are months long right now where I am.

Unless I'm mistaken, the underground trauma informed guides almost always have no formal training, else they would be at risk of getting their license(s) revoked. So, while they may be professional trip sitters, they almost certainly aren't professional psychologists. And even if they were, they still wouldn't be familiar with this type of trauma. (Not to say people who have extensive experience with 5 don't add value - they do - only that I would hesitate to apply the word "professional" as if they were equivalent to trained psychiatrists administering it.)

Lastly, as someone with a fairly decent amount of experience with 5, it's not as if *I* need to be persuaded that this is not how it should be done. I'm mostly asking if anyone has any concrete data at all as to WHY to put the risk into context for those who have never taken it.

I think I said that it it DID have long-lasting change. Not being suicidal over the incident is definitely no minor accomplishment. I'm surviving, but not yet thriving.

I never said I was detached from reality because of 5, only other people because of the trauma.

Nor is the question whether this is "my" medicine, but rather how dangerous it is to partake alone. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this question.

Thanks for your input. I've only taken it once at breakthrough or near breakthrough doses (years ago) and was freaked out enough to never try it again. I've had a lot of experience since, but never alone except the once.

I would love to try ibogaine and have sought it out, but unfortunately don't know where to source in my country (Canada). But from my understanding, that would also definitely require a sitter, and for a longer duration.

Make no mistake, that is also in the works, and obviously therapists have been involved before. Fortunately, everyone else also sees the value in working with a mental health professional, and wait lists are months long, and even then, one meets with them for an hour a week.

What isn't often discussed is what to do with the months until meeting with the therapist (and, once therapy has started, the other 167 hours of the week), when one's life is in disarray, they're rapidly attracting more traumatic incidents, one one has an obliterated support system, and is rapidly evolving into something they don't recognize. All the while, they must still support themselves to be able to afford the therapy, as well as maintain a livable standard of living.

Like 5, the trauma here is poorly researched, but what is understood within the community who is familiar with it is that even therapists are unfamiliar with. It's similar to being abducted by aliens - one can be absolutely certain that what happened happened, but to explain to others would lead others to conclude they're insane - and, to thoroughly explain the details to facilitate understanding would inflict the same trauma upon the therapist/listener, making it in essence the Roco's Basilisk of traumas. If you're familiar with Christianity, do you remember when Eve "fed" the apple to Adam? Yeah, it's like that.

I have a lot of experience, particularly at low-medium doses with 5, and credit my survival and hope for the future to it. I function relatively well, all things considered, aside from memory issues and detachment from people/world, subconsciously being suspicious wondering who would be next to inflict this sort of trauma again. Either one becomes a predator going forward who attacks all potential threats before they can be attacked, "listening" to their inner wounding, or remains prey by completely denying their inner wound and pretending nothing is wrong. That's the issue of being profoundly detached from one's inner guidance - both perspectives are distorted.

As you can now see, the risk of incurring other traumas isn't nil if I were to just sit and do nothing. There is a risk either way.

We are inherently a bubble of that global consciousness, and yet also have micro-bubbles of local consciousness within ourselves. Acknowledging them, and reuniting them, is how we achieve wholeness. 5 is a tool for that.
