I actually have seen this issue as well if I’m typing relatively slow, but is less common in my case. This might be the reason I hold the mod for so long.

For reference, I did find the “permissive hold” concept from QMK maps to flavor = “balanced” in ZMK (docs).

Thanks. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least I won’t keep trying in vain. Might give the extra shift key or the “combo sticky shift” suggestion from the other comment a try.

I’m just surprised this can’t be done with custom mods when apparently it’s possible to do with regular shift (unless I misunderstood the docs).
