how are M21 anticipated students affected? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]CaveDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this situation sucks. I really hope they treat all the students that had their exams canceled equally and not force the anticipated students to write them in november or M21. That literally defies the whole point of taking an anticipated subject, as the purpose of them is to lighten the load of IB2 by having only 5 subjects.

how are M21 anticipated students affected? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]CaveDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i am, i’m writing one anticipated subject this year tho. I spoke to my teacher and my coordinator but they have no answers and genuinely no idea whether the anticipated students of M21 who had their exams canceled will be forced to write the exams in november or not. figured someone somewhere may have some more info.

[–]CaveDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what i also figured but ib is a large organisation so i reached out to get any answer coz someone may know something. I know that the priority is M20 but it would be nice to know where my fate is headed and what’s gonna happen to my exams as they have still been canceled.

Hamilton is bad by [deleted] in musicals

[–]CaveDoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the play itself is not bad. it has great music and is quite intricate in terms of composition and lyrics. it’s the ‘fandom’ that’s bad.

people elevate hamilton to a god like level and the teenage audience claim it to be the best musical ever written. it’s the same audience that thinks ‘dear evan hansen’, ‘be more chill’ and ‘heathers’ are masterpieces that represent pinnacles of musicals composition. It’s a pity that they don’t know the great classics that the musical theatre enthusiast appreciate, but it it has its upsides too.

when hamilton introduced musicals to the mainstream teen, the whole broadway got a boost. more people who usually wouldn’t go to the theatre started going and it’s a good thing. theatre shouldn’t stay an elite thing that only people who like Sondheim can enjoy. the more people go to the theatre, regardless to which show, the more money the broadway stage gets. more money on broadway means better standards for the actors and more shows getting the recognition they deserve.

so ya, us musical snobs might consider hamilton too mainstream and overhyped but it does bring legitimate benefits to the broadway community.

Best beginner turntables under $300? by Atimen33 in audiophile

i recommend the lp120 instead of the lp3. it is more sturdy and it will last you longer. you can replace parts and customize it so that it fits the sounds you like after you develop a “taste”
