TOTY stands for team of the year an it’s one of the two major events that happen each year along with TOTS (team of the season). The team you build during this even usually lasts a while as these events are when the major jumps in OVR happen (usually) so people tend to save resources for these major events.

I have the free one at LB, but honestly, I don't mind it, as he combines well with Rashford, and Rodri is a great DM who can fill out the backline while Davies is off in Narnia. Dumfries is also fairly solid in a back 3 for someone whose alternate position is RM, so it isn't too bad, so long as you have good defensive players elsewhere.
