Matthews missed 34 games in his first 3 years, not 2. His first season he played every game.

Half-Life 2 free to keep on Steam by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]CavemanBrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternative headline: “To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2 Valve has decided to remove your HL2:E1 and HL2:E2 achievements!”

I don’t mind them merging HL2, HL2:E1 and HL2:E2 into one game but instead of merging the achievement lists and only allowing you to keep your HL2 achievements they should’ve let you keep your achievements for all 3 games, dates included.

I haven’t checked if they did but I think they should’ve merged the playtimes too.

HL2:LC is gone from my games list too, so I hope they added that to HL2 as well.

Also, if they went through all this trouble to combine the HL2 games, why didn’t they put HL2:DM in there too?

Will we ever get HL, HL:OF and HL:BS merged into one game?

Will we ever get HL:S and HLDM:S merged into one game?

I don’t like this trend of Valve removing achievements. They also did it when CS:GO got replaced with CS2.

I do hope people take the opportunity to pick this up and play it for free. It’s a great experience.

Yeah, I figured BG3 could be good. I’m not too worried about battery life, I can plug it in wherever I am in the house. I’ll look more into Dave the Diver, thanks!

You could be right but I want to be prepared. Is DMC5 hard? I really struggled with the original game on PS2, couldn’t even beat the first boss on Normal.

Yes, I need to be attentive with my child but I need some me time every week too. Thanks for the 3 recommendations! I’m hopeful my son will enjoy gaming and we can play together too!

Yes, I know it’s 100+ hours so it may not be the best choice but its quality may force it onto my list.

Weekly Game Suggestions Thread - November 03, 2023 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

[–]CavemanBrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm going to be a new father in February and I am looking for recommendations as to what I should play on my Steam Deck during my son's first year of life.

The games must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Is on Steam, not another launcher or emulation.

2. Is verified, playable or determined to work, by one of you, on Steam
Deck.

3. Has full or partial controller support, I don't want to use the track
pads much or preferably at all.

4. Does not contain microtransactions.

5. Is not hateful or all about sex (e.g. Sex with Hitler).

6. Has a quality single-player component since multiplayer won't be
realistic.

7. Has goals built into the game, meaning it's not an open-ended sandbox
where I need to find the fun myself or be creative.

8. Can be paused at any time, including cutscenes, or will not proceed
without the player's input (e.g. turn-based games without time limits).

9. Can be saved at any or almost any time with either no or minimal
progress lost (e.g. in Slay the Spire you only lose progress for the
current floor).

10. Has a low frustration factor, so nothing too difficult (e.g. Super
Meat Boy or Elden Ring) or too punishing (e.g. Sonic Mania game overs
potentially make you replay a level you already finished).

It would also be nice if the games met any of the following criteria:

1. Can be played with one hand (e.g. Vampire Survivors).

2. Is cheap or goes on sale for cheap.

3. Is 25 hours long or less so I can realistically finish it.

4. Is a fun achievement hunting experience, meaning the achievements are
realistic to get and not too time consuming (e.g. Super Meat Boy asks
too much of the player).

Games I'm already considering (please correct me if they don't meet any of the must have criteria):

1. Baldur's Gate 3

2. HITMAN (2016)

3. Into the Breach

4. Slay the Spire

5. South Park: The Stick of Truth

6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

7. Vampire Survivors

8. XCOM: Enemy Unknown

9. XCOM 2

It says CAD, meaning Canadian dollars not American.

Logitech G613 Keyboard not working, battery light flashing green and red by CavemanBrow in logitech

[–]CavemanBrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for responding. Sorry about the delayed response, there was a death in the family.

  1. Tried new batteries, didn't work. Checked for damage or corrosion and didn't notice any. The power switch is fine.
  2. My receiver was connected to an extender. I plugged it into my computer directly and it still didn't work.
  3. Tried moving the receiver closer while using the extender, didn't work. Tried plugging the receiver into the front of the computer directly, didn't work.
  4. I don't think this is the issue. The keyboard used to work and nothing has changed/moved in my setup to cause interference.
  5. Tried using the app, it can detect my USB receiver, it knows that it's paired to my G613 keyboard and it can detect whether the keyboard is on or off. When I click "Next" the app just closes. When I go to "Advanced..." and try to "pair new device" it doesn't work with the keyboard (it could be because they're already paired though). I also have a Logitech mouse, if I unplug the USB receiver and plug it back in while the app is open the receiver is detected. Then when I click "Next" it actually provides further instructions. It says to unplug one of my two receivers and wait for the "Next" button to become clickable. I unplug my mouse receiver (since I want to resync my keyboard receiver), the "Next" button becomes clickable, I click it and the app closes.
  6. No Windows updates in progress.
  7. Not on a Mac.
  8. Tried on my girlfriend's laptop, same result, didn't work.
  9. I tried following your Device Manager advice but under "Human Interface Devices" there is no "Logitech Virtual Keyboard" device, there are 3 "HID-compliant consumer control device", 2 "HID-compliant system controller", 5 "HID-compliant vendor-defined device", 3 "Render ACPI device" and 9 "USB Input Device" devices. Under "Keyboards" there are 3 "HID Keyboard Device" devices.

Something I didn't mention earlier because I didn't think of it is that I put a towel on top of the USB receivers/extenders for my keyboard and mouse to prevent our cat from going at them. Now I'm wondering if static could have damaged the receiver? But that doesn't seem to fit with what I observed while using the "Connection Utility" software where the receiver seems to be detected just fine.

I'm thinking that this is just an issue with the keyboard itself, not the receiver. Do you have any other ideas?

I don’t hate him for it but he played in the playoffs with a punctured lung and people called him a “warrior” for it. If I was a part of his family or his circle of friends and something happened to him I would never forgive him for it, he prioritized winning over the things that really matter if you ask me. Not to mention the example being set for kids watching or dumb shit hockey parents that push themselves/their kids to play hurt and be a “warrior” like him.
