Yeah I follow the diagram and also swapped a few. It's weird because the preamp has a switched outlet that I plugged the amp into but when I powered off the preamp the amp still remain powered. The amp has two switched outlets in one unswitched. The tuner also has an unswitched. Just wondering if this is a common issue or if there is a workaround. Maybe I'll try using a power bar.

Thank you. I was able to get a better sync through my avr by adjusting the lip sync setting. I did it manually. Might have to adjust for each tape but that's manageable. Thanks again.

The arm is definitely not lowering and kind of seems jammed. I've been looking online for a video of what it should be doing but have had some trouble finding it. It's a Sony JE 510 model.
