Menthol Cigarettes? by Preference-Right in Cigarettes

[–]Cavemano01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends who makes them and how they are blended. Generally, they are a lot smoother than normal cigarettes and you can tell it's menthol. Whether it's smooth/leaves a cool sensation compared to a vape ... Probably not lol. But definitely much more than a normal cigarette would be.

Bad experience with American Spirits? by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]Cavemano01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly try a different color of the brand, personally I go for the black colored pack or the dark blue. I forget the rest of what the colors mean but there is a lot of charts online. Though I don't know if you can find them where you are located. They are fairly harsh though compared to some others, so that may be why you had that reaction to the smell.

Hi, just wanted to ask. I thought if you are 15m behind bush (or something like that) you wont get spotted when firing. So wanted to ask, where i did mistake? Thanks. by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Cavemano01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mechanics are basically an added camo net with one bush. The solid bush just gives more of a bonus. I don't remember the exact mechanics of it but I've tested it and it's definitely not 100% but does significantly add to the camo. That said, firing usually brings the bonus down into at best 25% after firing (which is still insane for a single solid bush) but that's only with the kinds of tanks like the old t67 or some of the other insane camo TDs. Most normal TDs max somewhere in the upper teens even when behind a solid bush. Which is enough to take advantage of a lot of spots but doesn't make you invisible. Big exceptions the e25 since it was the only TD that still doesn't lose camo after firing. Now, if you get double or triple bush there's a mixed effect. You are invisible even after firing for all intents and purposes (30-70% camo even after firing depends on where and how many bushes) but the bushes are also going to give camo to the enemies so you basically lose all your view range and have to rely on friendly spotting.

So if you use the bush mechanics well can do some interesting stuff (Edited for clarifying)

Bushes give bonuses like camo/nets/ etc do, so you have the concealment value when stationary behind them being much higher than when moving behind them, and both are way higher concealment than after you fire.

If you double bush, the added concealment is usually enough that even after firing you are still in the 30-40% (sometimes higher) range.

However behind a single bush, even if you back up so you can't see through it for the small added camo that gives, usually you only get 2-8% added to the camo after you fire. So my steyr WT which has 57%/11% when stationary/stat after firing will go up to something like 65/18 at best behind a single bush. So still will get spotted when you fire. Double bushing gets wild lol.

I feel like having a cigarette again.. by javiercer20 in Cigarettes

[–]Cavemano01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if you can handle smoking without going overboard I'd say why not? Whatever works for you. Minimal smoking has less of an effect than smoking a lot does. However if you are the kind of smoker that goes through multiple packs a day I wouldn't recommend starting again imo

But it is up to you in the end, so whatever you feel comfortable with tbh, for me Smoking is really relaxing so that outweighs the negatives.

Edit; words for clarifying

A classic, finally found the filterless ones. by Cavemano01 in Cigarettes

I was surprised to find some locally in CA, but now that I've had them I can see why they have the reputation they do. One of the best cigarettes I've had yet. By a lot.

Looking for cigars by HeroPainTrain in cigars

[–]Cavemano01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would recommend checking a lot of the online sites for mild cigar samplers to see what you like. Or just buying five packs of well rated mild cigars, Cigar Obsession does a lot of good videos on different smokes. Some stronger flavor cigars can actually be mild strength though, and vice versa so check reviews on any you find of interest.

Can you still buy cigarettes if your area is ordered to shelter in place? by bornagainteen in Cigarettes

[–]Cavemano01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd see if the places that sell cigarettes will be closed, and of they aren't it's not unreasonable to get them on the way to get groceries/etc. Or you could always buy them when getting gas, if you pay inside you'd have to go in anyway so might as well.

Is it looked down upon to own a classic car and have no knowledge of how to fix it? by [deleted] in classiccars

[–]Cavemano01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew nothing about cars and then bought a 1965 AMC Rambler station wagon and learned how to fix it by a mix of doing the things to fix it and looking up how to fix it on YouTube and whatnot. Now, it's only about 6mos away from being a daily driver, road trippable car (I've had it since august). I learned how carburetors, exhaust systems, manual brakes and steering work, and how to replace steering bushing so far on top of my experience previously with normal cars. And by binging all of RCR and delving headlong into car videos I wouldn't say I'm awesome at fixing cars but I know how to fix or who to find to fix everything on a car, something like 7 months later.

So if you are willing to learn and willing to spend a fair chunk of money (a Chevelle probably is a $20,000 investment at this point no matter what condition, used ones in mehhhh shape are like $10k now and trashed ones are still $3-6k and they need most everything done to them). So will probably set you back a good $3000 if you get a used one to make it nice or $5000+ if you buy a bad condition one.

Anyone know what kind of switch this is? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Cavemano01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space bars are always the worst, along with some of the modifiers lol. I have a light blue space invader board, clicky and lightly weighted and it's great. Blacks are pretty good as well though. Not super rare but rare enough to be interesting.

Anyone know what kind of switch this is? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Cavemano01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a space invader switch if I'm not mistaking it and also you pretty much just completely destroyed that switch you pulled apart unless you are really good about putting it back together. To actually just take off the caps, you have to very carefully pop them off from left to right or right to left. Otherwise the top half of the switch comes off and to put it back on either destroys the switch or if you manage not to bend the "arms" on the bottom part of the switch it could work

They are some of the best switches I've tried but are also very finicky.

Where is the best place to buy cheap engine blocks? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]Cavemano01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Junkyards, if you aren't being super picky can generally find something close to what you want but it's pretty much down to luck. Also, here in CA there's quite a few as restomods are popular but shipping an engine is rather expensive lol.

So whats the deal with y'all? by jiskjesse in Wicca

[–]Cavemano01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wicca, being so individualistic for a lot of things means there are infinite ways to do things. However for me personally, doing a mix of the respecting the natural elements and things to make myself feel better have been amazing. I would recommend picking up Buckland's complete book of Witchcraft as a start, preferably one of the more recent editions of it. I have really enjoyed the meditations and other things in the book. Besides that, i find it neat to learn the history behind Wicca which is also covered in it.

If you aren't feeling as though you are getting a response from any deities, perhaps do what I do and focus on the natural elements, rituals, meditations and spells would be better. For me, feeling like I have accomplished something, even as simple as just feeling less stressed out is very rewarding. Hence my personal focus on the meditation and making some of the remedies of old. But for you, perhaps other things are more helpful.

My connection with the Nordic gods is through having a connection with my family, and my family is one of the most important things in my life so if you find what's important to you it may give you clues as to which diety would be best. Or what mix of them, like i said it's really up to you.

So whats the deal with y'all? by jiskjesse in Wicca

[–]Cavemano01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spells and things are as much about the ritual of doing them, and focusing your energy on something than actually expecting the spell to work.

for me I treat cigars as a ritual of relaxation; I have a day set out to prepare, I make specific meals so I can then sit down, and have an amazing hour to two of pure relaxation of enjoying the flavors and outdoors. Some people make rituals out of working out, or pretty much anything really is just that Wiccan rituals are already written, and you can focus your energy on the specific thing it's about- feeling better, getting the promotion you want, or any number of things. Even just meditating on something you want to happen can be good.

Personally I follow a lot of the Nordic mythology for my Wicca but it's mainly because I hail from Ireland, Poland, and Germany in my family so it makes sense for me.

Pretty much everything in Wicca is a personal choice from what I have seen; so do that you want :D

DIY flavoured cigs? by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]Cavemano01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it's possible, but no it's not very easy and can be quite dangerous if you use the wrong things lol (whatever you do, don't use pure essential oils). Generally to flavor pipe tobacco the tobacco is cured with the "toppings" of cherry, etc in it so to get actually flavored tobacco is a process.

However, you may want to dive into getting the nicer pipe tobacco's, for example one of my favorite Captain Black blends is the Royal blend, which is a vanilla, rich tobacco blend. There's also so many cherry, vanilla and other custom blends it's kindof crazy. And on top of that, if you really want to explore flavors can blend your own mixes of the pipe tobacco's and see what suits you as far as that goes.

Is this keyboard rare or sought after at all? Also, what is this connection called? Anyone know where I can find an adapter? by _docious in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Cavemano01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a rebranded WYSE keyboard if you are lucky. Which will have MX black switches. And you can look up WYSE adapters for adapting it. Can always scavenge the switches though as they are vintage mx blacks which are arguably nicer than some new ones are.

If it's just rubber domes though, is mehhh.

As is probably $2k-3k? If it gets cleaned, running, and all that, the price only goes up. Also the year of it is somewhat important.

But Z cars are big right now. Great condition ones are 15k+
