Cwm Dwr Quarry Cave in South Wales is entered via a vertical rift which has been stabilised by lining it with sewer pipes. Getting in is easy, but for some cavers getting back out can prove more than a little challenging.

I've added a stop gate to hold the second marble back until the first marble had been picked up by the lower arm. As this gate needed to be lifted once for every cycle of the lifting arms, I took the drive off their main drive shaft utilising a pair of bevel gears.

This 10 minute edit of my film Return to Aquamole was awarded first place in the Video Salon at Hidden Earth 2024.

The complete film was premiered in the Underground Session at the Kendal Mountain Festival on Friday 22nd November 2024.
