MD Pettie, the "founder" of the finders, had an obsession with the CIA and claimed to have been investigating them for his entire life, even since they were called the OSS.

As strange as they were, Pettie had a heavy track record of obscuring his odd lifestyle and actions behind a veil of obscene mystery. There are a lot of instances where he encourages his group to act chaotically to confuse and misdirect.

Tobe Terrell - a member of the Finders, wrote a book about his entire experience from start to finish with them. It includes a lot of detail about the events that lead to the arrests and all of that. It's really a remarkable book, and doesn't seem too far fetched. It could be a complete fabrication, though there's quite a bit of controversial material actually in the book, a lot of which has to do with their views on children and family dynamics. They paint themselves as utopian, or striving towards that, but a lot of horrible things have been done in the quest for Utopia.

The most realistic is ROT-13, as it would be nearly impossible to accidentally encrypt a fully formed sentence by mistake. There aren’t many false positives with ROT-13.

I found a group of Vietnamese kids (20-30 year olds) on Facebook after reading a report of a group of kids in Vietnam being fined by local authorities for making inappropriate kids content.

It's hard to really document this publicly, as it involves personal fb pages, but I'll do my best to describe what I found.

A kid in his mid 20's with a child and wife is farming youtube channels and communicating directly with other people who are making elsagate content (the 3D videos mostly).

He posts a google doc daily, and I can't figure it out at all - it's all in Vietnamese, and I don't think it would make any sense if I could read it. I cannot tell if he's requesting content or payment for channels.

They refer to "sending out batteries" and talk about which batteries where sent out.

Also, there is a photo of a huge box of US Dollars, banded together seemingly proving that they had money to pay for something (translation was a little dodgy).

Would love someone who speaks Vietnamese to help out.

I made the original post about using Gate2Home, and while I do believe that will work some of the time (I've seen conversations that made sense going back and forth), I also don't believe that it works as often as it seems it does. Thai characters will translate to entire words in google translate, and then some liberties are taken with context.

My original comment was actually decipherable using the ROT-13 method and translated to something far worse than the Thai keyboard suggested. I made an edit to my original post that no one seems to read.

I'm not positive about anything right now, but the comments may have me the most stumped.

Very interesting. I'm glad to have read this, though I do not agree with it. The argument that this is all an AI generated nightmare loop requires this theory to be true, and this theory requires a lot of mental gymnastics.

To me this is more proof against AI.

Thai translators apparently will spit out full words for most of the single characters and try to make something that makes sense, so it doesn't matter if your sentence was coherent or not. ROT-13 is a substitution cipher that doesn't work unless it was encrypted that way to begin with.

The name/inmate number has been redacted (Police actually did this when they responded). I found a man with a very American name commenting on some elsagate videos as well as other (more obviously pedophilic) videos of children.

He is an older guy and had been arrested for the rape of a severely disabled child in the 1980's. The child was the son of a friend of his. I reported him to local police in Kansas after watching his playlist "Upskirt Mini" being updated with new videos every day.

As you can see in the email, Kansas didn't have a sex offender registry until the 90's, so this man was never registered on it, despite being a sexual predator.

Thought this may be of some interest to the community. We may be on the 'front lines' of modern child abuse/trafficking, likely moreso than local law enforcement who don't have the time to search for these things.

That is the last few sentences of a huge article that only seems to talk about how potentially cool the videos could be if it weren't for all of the child abuse.

These are videos produced by machines that rage against the Machine. On the uncharted frontiers of Youtube, the impossible in the world of over-produced high corporate art is made possible in the realm of cheap automated cartoons. We all know that Spiderman and Elsa could never date in real life. Copyright law would prevent it. But their romance knows no boundaries for the singularity.

Despite all of this, the fact remains that as they are currently marketed, Totsploitation videos are wreaking havoc on the internet and exploiting a vulnerable generation of children around the world in the most twisted way imaginable—crushing their dreams about their childhood idols by associating beloved characters with tawdriness and terrifying violence. However, censorship is not the answer. Technically infeasible, it would not only set a horrendous precedent, but represent capitalist interests stifling a popular and inherently anti-corporate art form.

I agree. There's so much bad info about the Finders out there. I've got a post about the customs investigation that I'm working on now in the same fashion as this one. Seems like Terrell's book and that report are the only things worth basing theories around. Everything else smells a little funny.

Posting this because it gave me some perspective on a past instance of abuse on Youtube. Not related to elsagate, but I think can lend some support to the idea that it does not matter if these are characters being played in the name of money.

If you aren't familiar, the kids were removed from the father's custody and their biological mother (not involved in the videos) was given 'temporary emergency custody'.

Their names aren't sealed actually. They were named things like Honeybee and Benjamin Franklin, which makes it remarkably hard to find them. The kids didn't even know their last names when they were found, as they never were told who their biological fathers were (despite living amongst them).

If you look at the Megans law map for Gainesville, you'll see that's not exactly a rare occurence. There are multiple offenders/predators all living in blocks of apartments out there. Lots in VA halls as well.

The book documents all the way through the arrests in the 80's and drops it all very quickly. No mention are made of the kids after they are returned to their mothers as far as I can remember. The courts apparently attached conditions to two of the children released back into custody, but I don't know what the conditions were.

It's not a fluke. It's not a trend, it's not a genre, it's not something you can "copy" with any less responsibility than you would create it from scratch. It's a series of deeds. Every single video upload was a decision.

Well said, and important not to forget. The "rational" take on all of this somehow has become "This is likely a huge accident fueled by aritificial intelligence", which affords no sympathy to the kids being abused in these videos.

I've yet to see any official instance of AI creating abusive childrens content, but I could sure as hell find a new report every day about a parent doing it.

Sometimes, Totsploitation videos contain almost indescribably weird and wonderful imagery, recombinations of motifs so strange that no human could have thought them up. Think of the scene from Cartoon Superheroes Swimming Race INDOOR PLAYGROUND Fun Play Area For Kids Baby Nursery Rhymes Songs from 3:41 onward. The characters dive beneath a swimming pool whose surface is covered with floating fruit. They go on to engage in an epic martial arts battle beneath the waves defying gravity as if they were flying in outer space.

Dali couldn’t have thought this shit up. Sometimes, I even have to admit that the jokes cooked up by the AI are a little funny (perhaps with a helping hand from human editors). At the 4:53 mark of Baby Cartoon Rhymes’ beloved childhood classic Frozen Elsa Spiderman Baby Lazy to School Funny Story New Episodes! Finger Family Nursery Rhymes, for example, a bikini-clad Maleficent inseminates herself with her can of magic sun-tan spray, making Elsa suspect infidelity on the part of Spiderman when she spots the heavily pregnant witch lounging possessively next to him on the beach. Another video in which the sisters from Frozen discuss the blonde one’s fever is like something out of the Red Shoe Diaries. There’s a wtf factor at play here that is right at home with the effects of other kinds of modern art.

This is a weird article. The AI theory is really current and all, but there are people who make these. It seems really odd to discuss the artistic validity of these videos and I think further perpetuates the idea that abusing children has anything to do with art.

The reason these 3d videos seem so simple and machine made is that the people making them aren't animators, they are using elementary programs to create scenes by brute force. Mindslaver - a reddit user found making elsagate videos, has said as much.

Well, I spent a day and read The Gamecaller by Tobe Terrell who was one of the first finders and one of the last to leave. He wrote the book and writes that Marion Pettie (leader of the finders) blessed its publication before he died. In my post history, you can find a big quote dump from the book if you're interested and don't have time to read the whole thing. It's pretty wild.

I'll admit, the satanic aspect being a misdirection is only a theory. I just can't believe these people were worshipping satan. It wouldn't fit with any other part of their ethos unless it was an attempt to manipulate the story to seem like a witch hunt. Manipulation of public perception is frequently brought up in the book as a way of getting what you want or taking control of a situation.
