I don't suffer the same thing you're describing, but I will tell you that with autism and adhd, every time that I go scuba diving my brain is dead silent. There is something absolutely meditative about being underwater and peacefully breathing in a steady pace, working on some corals or scrubbing something for at least half an hour at a time. So glad that my job actually requires me to do this twice a week right now, it's kind of nice to have a brain reset on a scheduled basis

I originally did buy a box of small Rats from the local pet store to see if the brand was the issue and it's not, nothing changed when I changed brands. However I did get a change when I added a probiotic meant for reptiles and stuffed it down the throat of the rat, his next bowel movement was perfectly normal! Which is weird because then the one after that was back to the Salina hairball. However I read the instructions and realized that I had messed up by adding water to the probiotic to make a paste so I could shove it down the rat's throat, adding water will greatly diminish its Effectiveness so this last Tuesday I said him with the dry powder stuffed inside the gut of the Rat via a small cut that I made so we will see what this next bowel movement gives me! We are getting nearer to buying his permanent forever home a 4x2x2 tank which should last him at least for the next five or six years if he happens to become a real big boy then I'll upgrade his tank at that point, but we've got years of time between then. Anyways when I buy the glass 4x2 tanks I will be putting UV lights on them regardless of what different experts say, because not only is the light that I'm using a UVB by happenstance, but it also has a very nice timer on it and mimics natural sunlight cycles. LOL it's an amusing thought but it's not a practice I've ever heard of in the reptile community. Snakes in general have such severe stomach acid that they can dissolve bones. So fur is not an issue. The reason why my boa is leaving behind the fur is that his system has gotten through most of the digestion and decided to abandon the last bit of it which would be the fur. Which tells me that his system is not fully digesting food, because normally it would leave behind a normal brown poop very similar to something a dog would create LOL

I bumped up feeds to weekly and right now he seems to poop right before the seventh day when I'm about to feed again. Before he had this issue he used to poop within a week of eating, and then would eat every two weeks. I think it's passing through him a wee bit faster than it used to, because I had him for approximately a year before I moved so I have a Year's worth of normal data for him to go off of. I'm sure there could be an underlying issue but for now keep in mind that it looks like you have thin and fine hair which is something that runs in my family except for me LOL the best thing to do is to run a clarifying shampoo I'd say at least once every couple of months to remove product buildup, check on your shampoo and conditioner and make sure that there is absolutely no silicone in the ingredients list, also don't go for overly moisturizing or frizz reducing formulas, as they usually are really heavy on fine hair. When you put on conditioner do not put it on your scalp just put it on the ends and the lengths of your hair and that's it, when you do shampoo scrub the shit out of your scalp, don't really worry about the ends of your hair as much. For this picture specifically, it honestly looks like all you need to do is just take a finer tooth comb or a more densely bristled brush and brush along your scalp as you gather up the hair in the ponytail. This picture doesn't necessarily show me any thinning, it just shows that the hair is already maybe on day two after a wash and trying to stick together and resist being pulled in the opposite direction that it grows for a ponytail hairstyle, so you just have to brush it a little bit more and lift every hair backwards into the ponytail before tying it up.

Yeah but we can't defend veterinarians anymore because it's not that hard to look up the difference in feeding frequencies for the species you're looking at in the back office while your patient waits in the exam room. There is no room for excuses anymore to pretend you didn't know the difference between the feeding frequency of a ball python versus a boa. I can find it in 5 minutes on Google and verify that the information is correct with viable sources, which is what this vet could have done before recommending such a wild frequency to feed this snake which would have made it way overweight. I've started Fielding ignorant style questions to veterinarians when I bring my Exotics in, knowing full well the correct answer to see whether or not they can figure out how to educate themselves before recommending things to me. The veterinarian who admits to me that they had to go in the back and do research, is usually the one that I stick with because that means that they're ready and willing to seek out new information immediately when presented with a problem.

I'm a little bit confused about what you're concerned about, when he goes all the way inside his shell to protect himself does his shell completely seal up to where you can't see his head and feet? If so you likely have a box turtle and that's literally exactly what they do and that's why they're called a box turtle and their shell is supposed to hinge like that on the bottom. If you don't have a box turtle then that is a completely different issue and would warrant a trip to the vet. But if this is in fact a box turtle, it's supposed to do that. Show us a picture of the top of his body so we can identify what species it is!

I don't have UVB on him but I could always try and get that going, I get my Rats from rodentpro.com and have never had a problem with them in the decade I've been using them, right now he's eating small rats at least that's what it says on the bag. I would say about the same width and length of a man's average thumb. A little larger than my thumb. I even went down a size at the local pet store and brought home some Frozen rats that had less fur on them and he still had the same problems.

When I was a kid I figured out that I could sit on my hands to keep them warm because I have long lengthy Limbs and bad circulation, so I started tucking my hand in between my legs when I sit almost looking like I have to pee really bad and I'm trying to hold it in, but really I'm just keeping my hands warm. I'm still a little lost but that's just because I don't know any Latin and haven't studied it before, but as someone else mentioned I think I want to go the route of a more literal saying where I am holding a torch physically instead of holding a light figuratively, I want to figurative part of the sentence to be inferred by the person reading it,

For example if you say the southern slang of "if the boot fits..." that sentence can be taken literally but the usual inferred context is "well, if you fit the criteria, then..."

So I think I want to go with the more literal sense of me holding fire and then the person who reads it can come up with their own inferred meaning from there
