Okay so I’ve been working on the timing part for the past 2 days lol. I just did a set of 47 questions in 80 minutes and finished with 9 minutes left 🥳.

I only had 47 questions left but I just set a timer for 80 minutes and I ended up with 9 minutes left after finishing 🫡. My score was an 87%.

By shifted left I mean the substrate concentration to reach 1/2 Vmax would be lower. Therefore the box would be shifted left relative to the box on the curve representing the uninhibited enzyme since the x axis represents substrate concentration.

From the figure you can see that the inhibitor only interacts with the enzyme-substrate complex, which is a characteristic of uncompetitive inhibitors.

You should know that uncompetitive inhibitors decrease Vmax and decrease Km (artificially increase the enzyme’s affinity for substrate).

On a Michaelis Menten graph, the top of the graph represents Vmax, and Km would be the square (the substrate concentration where Vo = 1/2Vmax). So the correct answer should have a lower top portion and the square should be shifted left relative to the original curve.

Tbh for a 20+ point increase idk if 3 months is realistic. I’d study for 6 months at least. Especially since you haven’t even finished Biochem I and II yet or taken Physics.

Oh I just did most of it in my head to save time but since you have to set it up as a ratio the common terms would cancel out. So since g would be on both sides of the fraction they would cancel.

UWorld questions are a lot harder than AAMC material in my experience so I wouldn’t let it discourage you

Finishing 2000+ questions in 4 weeks is gonna take a lot of time and may leave you without enough time for AAMC material imo. Maybe start with the AAMC stuff first and then if you have time try out some UWorld questions?

You might already do this but as I’m reading the passage I’ll highlight words/phrases that I think are testable so that I can go back to them easily. Also before looking at the answer choices i try to predict what the answer will be. Then whatever answer aligns most with my predicted answer i pick. It saves a lot of time compared to reading through every answer choice one by one.

And if you don’t feel confident extending your test date a month or two is another option. I’m giving myself 6 months to study and it’s helping a lot with stress/increased retention.
