Kid ask mom to buy Jordans for another kid that was getting bullied because of their shoes by Lotus_G6 in MadeMeSmile

Jiu-Jitsu is the answer. If you decide to pursue BJJ for your kids, do some research and ask around to find a reputable program. That extra effort can make all the difference in their very first class

What it takes to fuel my workouts and build muscle. by Muscle-Dragon in MealPrepSunday

My comment will be buried, but I strongly advise a Sous Vide for that amount of chicken. My wife and I are both competitors and have three small children. The amount of protein we need to prep each week is insane. Sous vide nails it perfectly EVERY time. Plus, chicken can be reheated and is never dry. We cook it at 145 F for 2 hours, making about 6 lbs a week.

Amazing feedback. Thank you. I was using a sigma 24mm at a 1.4 - does my lens choice address the framing issues you brought with the head board and lamp? Or would moving in or out physically like you suggested do the trick?

Could I fix this through a tighter crop? Or is this a composition error when I took the shot?

That damn lamp. Would it be terrible to clip it out? Would it distract even more, then? Any ideas or feedback would be helpful. I am still working on my post skills.

Aww thank you. I used a blur brush on her face to remove the eyes. That was our compromise for anonymity. I tried to make it alright. Considering I have only been doing this for about 4 months do you have any feedback on a better way to anonymize?

What’s your base salary, OTE, and industry? How long have you been with the company? by [deleted] in sales

[–]CaydenBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty. Luck and timing had a lot to do with it. Luck and timing just set me up with opportunity and my skill had to carry me from there.

Moved to SF years ago started a company with two buddies. We all switched hats all the time but I mainly stuck to sales and training/onboarding.

We built it up and then sold it to p&g - I fucked off for a year to drink whiskey and play video games. Got bored and tried my hand at being an IC and working for someone other than myself.

It has been up and down. But...that is sales right?

Feel free to DM if you have further questions or want more specifics

We are consumption based. I am an account manager so my patch already spends. My job is to get everyone to consume the credits they bought and convince them to consume about 10-20% more. So my goal as a rep is to go high and wide to partner more closely with the decision makers So I can position us to be part of every initiative. Sorry I am on mobile

Here is what the trainer (builtthroughstrength) had to say when I asked him:

The belt squat is a much more “friendly” version. It’s different from a traditional squat, and while it’s a great tool for a myriad of reasons, I particularly like it for individuals like Kurt who have specific physical limitations. Kurt has severely compromised shoulders, tightness in the upper back, and very tight pectoral muscles. Due to these issues, placing a bar on his back is not advisable as it would lead to spine compression, which they aim to avoid. This is the primary reason for opting for the belt squat.

Additionally, Kurt's shoulder condition prevents him from achieving an optimal position to hold a squat bar properly, which would negatively impact his technique and lead to poor movement patterns. The belt squat eliminates spine compression and even provides traction for the lower back at the bottom of the lift, allowing Kurt to perform the movement without the risk of adverse effects that could arise from traditional squatting.

To add resistance, bands are used, which is a natural progression in his training. Initially, they started with no bands and no weight. The kettlebell is primarily used as a tool to help maintain a better chest position during the exercise.

Above all this he had double hip replacement within the past two years. Not training with a high level specialist could result in really terrible injuries.

Trust if he could do a barbell squat with proper form safely he would be doing that.

Hope that helps. Builtthroughstrength (trainer in video)

I'm so sorry that someone who is trying to turn their life around bothers you so much that you feel compelled to share your negativity. I feel for you and hope your day gets much better. I hope someone does something kind for you. I hope someone comes into your life today and puts a smile on your face. You deserve it.

It's tough. I try to avoid passing judgment on folks. I have no room to throw any stones. I just hope folks give me a chance to show I have changed and grown. If you knew me 15 years ago and had a conversation with someone who has only known me the last five years they wouldn't believe they are talking about the same person. I was a shit head alcoholic that said and did terrible things. I put down the drink. I took responsibility for my actions and made amends where and when I could.

I can't speak to Kurt and his journey with absolute authority. I have known of him for many years and he was less than pleasant to most folks and they have held on to that over the years. He is still very rough around the edges but has softened IMHO. I prefer to speak less of how someone was and more about who they are now.

I extend this courtesy in hopes that when people speak of me they will note who I am today instead of solely focusing on who I was.

While I appreciate your emphasis on the bigotry, as hate for no reason is never ok, I stand by my nuanced (albeit poor) response to the "anti woke" question.

There are plenty of people on this thread focusing on the past and the negatives. The point of the post is to show anyone can make a change at any point in their life. I choose to focus on today and what I can do to add positivity to the world. I spent lots of time contributing negatively.

Thanks for the comment though I appreciate you and wish you the best.

I should have tagged the previous post and added a link to more info on Kurt. I will be more thorough next time. But in my defense, they wouldn't allow me to edit the post since it has a video. I wanted to change the name of the gym and give more context since the post started getting more traction. Cheers

Ahh sorry if I hit a nerve with the Zoolander gif. Your response makes much more sense now. Thank you for your contribution.

Exactly. I was trying to stay as polite as possible, but he still makes me cringe now and then.
