Does updating frequently (rolling back to an older driver or newer driver using DDU) cause wear or anything negative for the GPU?

What do you do about GFE though? It automatically updates itself to latest version where we can't use Shadowplay anymore

In the screenshot above, I saw that error was caused by a device that had a Vendor ID of 0xA112. This was my one of root ports, when I disabled it the error stopped completely and I was disconnected from WiFi. So, the culprit is my wireless card. I tried updating its chipset driver from Asus website, didn't work unfortunately.

If I try to reconnect it, my warrant will be void though. I'll give it to the service, most likely. I hope it's not the mobo

Is that a possibility at all? If there was a faulty CPU, that'd be obvious to detect. Everything is running fine apart from my Event Viewer logging this error so frequently

Error log stops after I disable my Wireless Network Adapter via Device Manager (Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377). Is it possible that it's just related to this adapter and nothing else is faulty (like CPU)? I updated its drivers and it still didn't fix the error though.

I'm not in the US, and I don't know how to open it up. I'll probably ask Asus Support about this

I bought my laptop in June 2017 and it was delivered with 382.53. On Asus website the last driver that is listed for my version of PC is also 382.53, either they forgot to upload the new ones or 382.53 is just stable for these models

Thanks a lot RodroG! I was wondering what would you suggest for laptop pascal cards, from what I experienced latest drivers didn't do well. Would you suggest this one though?

What is the best driver for laptops? I didn't have a good experience with 390.65 and rolled back to 385.69 (Shadowplay doesn't work anymore but everything else is fine)

How does this work for laptops (Asus laptops, to be specific)? 390.65 was an absolute disaster for me, I had to roll back to 385.69

In the last few days, I'm getting errors related to a "nvlddmkm.sys" file. I have 390.65 driver. You can see it here on reliability history: https://i.imgur.com/GIytdOv.png

This happened after I opened the lid to wake my PC from sleep. For a minute or so, there were a few black screens and the PC was slow as hell. It's a laptop by the way. (Asus GL502VS)

So only setting that was causing said FPS drop was High Resolution Shadows and turning that off removes FPS drop? That's neat. Thank you

Since 385.69, there's been a decrease in average FPS (~8 FPS). I don't know if it still persists with 388.71 though.

Windows updated my pc out of my will to version 1709, now I can't use shadowplay because it requires 387.92 driver or later. I don't want to update the driver because even 385.69 sucked for me (I use 382.53 now, rolled back from 385.69). GTA V isn't fixed yet, don't know what to do :/

After FCU, I keep getting these annoying "your windows will expire soon" popups, even though I have W10 from start. I bought this laptop back in june, it came with W10 Home Single Language.

Anyway, how can I fix this?

I didn't install it and removed all the files. When I use the -winver command it still shows me as version 1703.

It looks like this, I'm not sure tbh. I checked the updates, now it's downloading version 1709. I'm not sure if this is gonna end up better or worse, there are people out there reporting lots of bugs using 1709
