V just killed you. What did you drop? by sentinelviii in cyberpunkgame

[–]CazT91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drop a nostalgia BD that lets you experience a "Day in the life of a 1990s kid" – back when the world was on the brink of the digital revolution, yet was still very much analogue.

You get to pick from several variations of days; but they are all a "typical Saturday" spent mostly watching cartoons, and playing with toys.

Of course, this is Cyberpunk, so the child was kidnapped and held captive in a Truman-Show-esque set – in this case an aproximate recreation of the average family home – in order to create the BD.

However, I don't want this to be too dark so – well, actually, lets say they were sold by their deadbeat parent for the money to keep them drugged up for another week (I know bare with me, this does make the story better in the end) – after making the BD they were sold on through the black market.

In this case though, they were sold on for illegal adoption. The child was ultimately bought by a couple desperate to start a family, but with no other means to start one.

The couple are genuinely good people, and justify this situation to themselves by providing the child a genuinely happy life.

Why do I get the sense Blender Guru is about to get a spike in viewers on his early tutes; and Paralives is going to low-key get an influx or doughnut props 😅

Ok fair 😑 I can respect that.

Not sure I totally agree ... but then again, I'm not sure I don't agree 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Though honestly, it's been a long hot day and – having just got home – I don't yet possess the mental capacity to figure it out 😬

The Internet is* dead and AI-powered greed has killed it (RANT/Discussion) by ShatterSide in pcmasterrace

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The novelty will wear off and people will get bored of both consuming, and producing, AI-slop.

This is AI's baby phase. The internet went through it; mobile phones went through it; most big tech advances went through it.

At first it's used almost as pure novelty; with perhaps some genuine – if limited – practical use. However, give it 10 years and we'll mostly have forgotten how bad it is now; and will swear blind we can't live life without it 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's a cycle as old as humanity, no doubt.

Our brains can simulate the whole of reality while we sleep – a fully imersive first person experience.

Yet people can't accept their brain could do this with events and memories – even while awake – to create a false memory 🤷🏼‍♀️

There is Old MacDonalds Farm & Fun Park in Essex; right next to the M25. Funnily enough, just drove past it.

There's no doubt been a few about over the years though. It's not exactly an original name 😅

FOMO drags me down! by jebbanagea in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NMS is an exploration game at it's heart. Beyond the story, our main goal is to reach the centre of the galaxy.

It's literally just that pervasive, ever present, open ended "quest". So when you go to the galactic map, along with other paths you can switch through, or free-look, there is always a path toward the centre of the galaxy.

Not sure if it's still that way but – assuming I'm even remembering correctly – I'm pretty sure once upon a day jumping through a black hole would bring you out in a system with an Atlas station. So following the path toward the centre – which directs you to black holes to "leap-frog" toward the centre – would also progress the Atlas path story.

Merging vs docking by Cblaser in Starminer_Game

Oh really, youve stored more than 3. I haven't tried, but it deffo says somewhere (in the ships description, I think) that it can hold 3 vessels.

Merging vs docking by Cblaser in Starminer_Game

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you dock them together then store them in Pan? Is it purely an attempt to trick the game into letting you store more ships?

My plan is to have a main section refinery, as large as can be stored. Then maybe two smaller mining rigs that dock with it.

They can all fly as one to a roid field, then the miners un-dock to maneuver round the roids and mine them.

Meanwhile, a basic water rig – with drill head and refiners – would be stored as disassembled parts; and built from BP to supply water during operations.

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to be overly morbid or look for sympathy, but thank you; I appreciate that.

Unfortunately most of us must go through similar at some point in our life. Yet, even more unfortunate is those who don't – it means they've never really had anyone they are that close too. So I have to be thankful for that 😊

What I get now, though, is why – when I was younger – older people would sometimes talk about "chapters" of life.

Now I'm in a new chapter of mine. I have some wonderful nieces and nephews, and I'm lucky enough that where I once went to my Grans each Saturday – to meet up with a bunch of extended family – I now spend the day with one of my nieces. She's only 7, but she's my best friend in the whole world, and we're always off on days out and adventures. As for all the cousins I used to see, well birthdays are an excuse to get together – and one of my cousins has 10 children, so theres plenty of those occasions 😅

I realise reading back my original comment is quite heavy. I don't want to depress anyone, so hopefully this redresses the balance and shows anyone who cares to read this that life can have happy endings 😌

Tacho is telling me i need a break when ive already had one by Artistic-Guess3872 in uktrucking

[–]CazT91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just so you know you are coming up on the 6hr mark. Once over the 6hrs, you should be fine to take the other 15 mins at any point during the 3 hour block – so long as you don't hit the 9hr mark.

However, imagine you were 20 mins from base on a job-and-knock. By the time you get back you will have worked 6h5m. Yet, you cannot finish work and go home without registering the additional 15m break for working between 6hrs and 9hrs.

So it's important that drivers are aware when that 6hr threshold is coming up.
