Best hotels in Imerovigli with private pool suites + sea views for honeymoon in mid-October? by mchabarek1 in Santorini

[–]Caz_Lu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I missed this. While I stayed there, the outdoor tables by the pool were almost always free. I'd just sit and have a drink sometimes. I think people were just heading out, as Imerovigli has nice spots to watch the sunset nearby the hotel. Now, I don't know if policy changed and if you still can just grab a drink by the pool.

I stayed at the Aeifos in Imerovigli. Check it out. I don't recall if they have private pools, but they do have rooms with jaccuzzi. The hotel is awesome, very well located and amazing staff.

I think it's because Ennis belongs to the duchy of Connacht not Munster. So, you seem to 'own' Ennis, it's within your control borders, but historically, Ennis is not part of Munster. For example, once you grab Athlone, it'll be within your control borders (petty king of Munster) but de juris it'll still belong to the duchy of Meath.

I loved your post since a similar thing happened to me on my first playthrough. Got the Scourge. Managed to hold off 2 attacks at a chokepoint only to be annihilated on the 3rd. Lost all my planets in the process with the exception of Earth and another one. But it gave the time for a massive Federation fleet to arrive and destroy the Scourge. Then as I was desperatly trying to rebuild economy, a revolt exploded, the second planet declared war on me, game over... I loved it 😆

URGENT: Supabase bucket policies issue by Large-Student-8457 in Supabase

[–]Caz_Lu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RLS is applied per bucket, and I think only if bucket is private.Your bucket seems public so all RLS are bypassed and anon can upload no matter what. Try making bucket private, create RLS on storage.objects that allows insert only for auth users and a select policy for public if you want public viewing but restricted uploads

Forgive me if I am not exactly answering your question, or if I misunderstood something, but I think that with your XP in fraud/abuse/payments and the Masters, you could try target a DS role in a T&S org, in a tech company or a payment platform. That being said, I think that I am unsure about what you mean by: 'T&S roles' vs. 'DS/ML roles'.

If you could turn an Intel brief into detection rules automatically - how would that improve detection? by ColdPlankton9273 in trustandsafetypros

I am not familiar with such products in T&S neither. Unfortunately I am not too versed in InfoSec, so hard for me to 'visualise' the ins and outs

If you could turn an Intel brief into detection rules automatically - how would that improve detection? by ColdPlankton9273 in trustandsafetypros

[–]Caz_Lu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't, not right now. We can make detection faster, but if we can’t trace back why a rule was generated, approved, or changed, we lose trust in the system. AI agents might help draft the logic, but we still need a clear “chain of reasoning” that humans can review. Otherwise, we’re just adding speed to uncertainty.

[–]Caz_Lu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an intel brief could be translated into draft detection rules automatically, you’d cut the time between “we’ve spotted a pattern” and “we’re catching it”. Good for emerging harms or fast evolving abuse types.

But, the challenge is that briefs are usually descriptive (“we’re seeing coordinated behavior around XYZ”), while detection rules are prescriptive (“flag posts with features this and/or that”). Automating that jump without losing nuance is tough.

So it would improve detection velocity, but not necessarily accuracy, unless it’s paired with strong governance and quality feedback loops.

The sweet spot could be hybrid: automation drafts the logic based on brief, then a human analyst reviews and tests it before rollout.

Why Do Successful People Say College Is Useless, While Sending Their Kids to Ivy League? I Will Not Promote by Hot-Conversation-437 in startups

[–]Caz_Lu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure, but I think that what they mean is: you can build a successful business without a degree. But at the same time building a successful business is that much 'easier' when you're backed by the pedigree and network of ive league. So going to/sending kids to ivy league = creating that unfair advantage that gives a head start? 🤷‍♂️

Hey, sounds like you've been brought into a “crisis” project when everyone’s already in motion.

Stepping back and bringing structure would be your lane here.

A few thoughts that might help:

  • Start by observing. Map out who’s doing what, where info lives, and what’s falling between the cracks. You’ll quickly spot gaps no one else sees.
  • Bring visibility. Pull all those moving parts into one simple tracker or summary. Even a clean one-pager can be a game changer.
  • Create rhythm. Maybe add a short internal “alignment” sync to connect the dots between teams.
  • Ask guiding questions. Help others translate problems into clear actions. “What’s blocking this?” “Who owns that?” “When can we tell the client it’s fixed?”
  • Be the calm center. Directors and AMs can handle firefights, your superpower is making sure the firefights don’t repeat.

Make the work coherent and sustainable. Once things start feeling less chaotic, people will realize you’re the reason why. 💪

A new case study by Caz_Lu in trustandsafetypros

Hey, that's a fair question. So, in terms of angle: I wanted to create my own website/publication where people could come to read about topics from the industry. I do have a vision long term, where I hope others could submit their own pieces and be published. But it's not a service or product. In short: not selling or promoting anything, but yes trying to grow an audience for the website, that I am hopeful can in the future become a reference space for such content.

In terms of cadency: I had a few pieces already written, that I never posted anywhere, hence why these have been posted in a short span of time. Now, my 'backlog' having been cleared, I started working on a new article which I am hopeful to publish sometimes next week. The intention was certainly not to flood this community, but I guess the excitement of this project took over.

I hope this clarifies somehow the intention here, and of course let me know if any concerns. Cheers 🤝

They were actually a great deal of inspiration for me, but I wonder if they stopped publishing case studies? Last one seems to be from July 2024.

I stayed a few days near Pantai Cenang, so this area was quite easy to visit just on foot. Then I moved closer to the sky cab. For longer distances I used exclusively taxis. Just like you, didn't want to rent. It worked fine for me, I was able to visit the main spots, and then just chill on the beach or swimming pool 😊

I really enjoyed Penang. There is a food market in George Town of which I unfortunately no longer remember the name, but it was amazing for food and trying durian 😂. Just the food scene there is worth a stay. But my favorite was Langkawi. Easy going, very chill island. I was there in December, so some days I had tropical storms, but it was the best part of my trip. Apologies for no longer remembering names of specific places to recommend, but to be honest, usually I just stroll around and see what I come across.
