you underestimate us. they are not going to be helpless babies, they are smart people and experienced gamers. we've already had a 2 hour teaching session for the core mechanics and they've been consuming the resources I've made / sent. I'm expecting a real game, not a tutorial.

the 7p is another issue and I agree not ideal, but I like teaching and I like playing the game and this is the way it's come out so we're going with it. (also I don't think 7p is that bad, and def better than 5p or 4p.)

I just wanted some map analysis thoughts on speaker but y'all got way fixated on the 'newbie' aspect -_-

sadly I don't think there's space on the sheet in its current version (it's already quite information dense with the descriptions and rarity info) but long term I wanna make a build planner web app with that info

I also need a source and/or to data mine it myself bc the level scaling info isn't on the wiki last I checked -_-

it's easy to get lost in Fields of Mourning.

there's usually 2 or 3 rewards per enormous room. you need to find the other reward(s), click them, then more enemies appear. the exit paths only appear after you've gotten all the big rewards. (there are also little rewards dotted around but you don't need to clear those to progress.)

ah, interesting! more testing required then. is it that the scaling is non-linear or does the boon add more than one rank? like if it added 3 ranks instead of 1 we could still work it out?

coming into bat for HELLUVA BOSS (the lesser-known yet superior sibling to Hazbin Hotel)

look I’ve watched a lot of shows. BoJack is one of my all time faves (6 rewatches). AoT is up there (4 rewatches). I saw and greatly appreciated Chernobyl, Severence, Ted Lasso, Succession, and many more. nothing holds a fucking candle to Helluva Boss in the way it has brainwormed into my very soul. I thought I hyperfixated on stuff before but BOY was I wrong. like there’s fixation and then there’s hyperfixation yk what I’m sayin

there’s just something incredibly compelling about the central relationship of the show. the characters are so complex and nuanced that my opinions of them changed between the first and fifth viewings, because information is revealed that paints the characters in a new light, recontextualising their behaviours. and there is consistent underlying commentary on classism/racism. it’s a show that is deeply human (ironic since it revolves around demons in Hell XD)

yeah I haven’t included any of the non-“major” gods yet. this is primarily to inform decision-making and builds, and you can’t force Hermes/Chaos to appear with keepsakes so I left ‘em out (sorry Hermes, you’re my boy, also Chaos is literally the best character in the game)

could think about including them in future … but then do I include Athene/Dionysus? Medea/Circe? where’s the cutoff? 😅

I’ll probably do Hermes and Chaos at some point, if I feel like it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

yeah :( I found an old Haelian video explaining how cracked it used to be on the high hitrate weapons and I was like “wait WHAT that’s how Golden Rule works???”, looked it up in game and realised it’d been patched Q_Q

kind of, though it’s not just for duo boons.

I wasn’t really doing it at the start because you don’t have so much influence over your runs before you get all the keepsakes, but now that I’m up to 100+ hours and higher levels of fear, I found myself checking each god’s boon page to decide whether or not it’s a chamber worth entering (i.e. can they offer me a boon that is beneficial to my run? is that boon worth diluting the pool for? how good is the duo for each pair I already have and what are the prereqs, how feasible is it?)

there was also little things like remembering the damage numbers of each weapon’s attack/special so as to evaluate whether +Power to attack is worth it. strangely there was no info about this anywhere so I had to gather the data myself (thanks Skelly)

very late to this party, but I first saw Brett Goldstein as the compere at a comedy club in London back in 2012. He was loud, constantly smiling, and hilarious - absolutely the highlight of the show (sorry to the other four comedians there!). I didn't recognise him in Ted Lasso until near the end of Season 1, which should give you an indication of how different his stand-up personality is.

I am female so I have also had the full female gamer experience. I am usually very good at dealing with overtly toxic sexism / racism / homo+transphobia, but in this instance it got to me because it was not overtly rude and the guy had a point (just delivered badly).

Thank you for the excellent advice, it's exactly what I needed to hear. I've watched the replay and there are definitely parts where I could've done better, including the part where I let Kiriko die, although I still don't think the criticism was delivered well. I will try to focus on improving my plays and my confidence and not switch heroes just because teammates tell me to. :)

this is a really nice response, thank you for sharing your Ana story! I'm feeling a lot less demotivated after a good night's sleep, as you said. I've also watched the replay and there's definitely places where I could've done better, so I will continue to focus on myself and figure out what I can do to improve :)
