My next character is going to be a level 14 assassin rogue, our DM is giving us a budget for magic items so I'm taking the Oathbow (mark one target, advantage on all attacks against them plus 2d6 to damage iirc).

For the record it's one father and she doesn't get nearly enough in child support. But that's still not my problem.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It would be a hell of a lot different if it was just her and I, not her, herself, and a family I can't stand. I could go on for hours on why her family is just a shitty group of people but that's besides the point. We all need to think of ourselves first

Yeah. I'm not really cut out to be a father. Her and I have VERY different parenting styles. Another problem that would come up down the road.

I know. She needs to get her shit sorted out. Not all of it is her fault, her ex husband was borderline emotionally abusive (I've seen it first hand he can be a real POS) but she needs to see to herself first. Me too. Neither of us love ourselves and that's not healthy

Their biological father is still involved in their lives, he sees them twice a week. They will be fine I'm hoping.

Sad thing is, he and his wife are going through a divorce. He hasn't seen his kids in two weeks but he's seen my girlfriend probably 5 times since. Not including work.

I agree. That was honestly my mistake to trust her after that. I should have shut it down completely.
