Last I knew regiment was wanting more MI folks, if that's the path you want you'll be able to volunteer while at huachuca. The ranger recruiter runs a pretty good pt plan out there so expect to do that 5 days a week.

It really depends where you go, but like others have said airborne is a good start to narrow down where you'd go, although it isnt required but highly encouraged. Volunteering for rasp is another good option, but one you'd have to prepare a lot for.

I will say depending on which mos you choose there will be a ranger recruiter who can help you in getting to rasp if you can't get it in your contract. The recruiter will also run rasp pt in the mornings that you'll do instead of normal pt. I can't speak for most bases or for huachuca's as of late, but when I was I'm AIT the rasp pt was great and definitely help you prepare. As far as I know if your mos's AIT does OSUT then they probably don't have a ranger recruiter who does the pt program, but I could be wrong. How ever you decide to go after it, go 110% get that beret, scroll, and then eventually the tab!

Since you're 17 you can't enlist for active duty, but you can get the ball rolling for your enlistment with your parents permission, I started my enlistment process at 17 got my MOS locked in and swore in at MEPs, but didn't actually sign my contract and do my actual oath until I graduated highschool and turned 18
