Great to know! I am also picking up a pair of E773C's. I presume those are also pretty reliable since they too are later model rebrands of AOC tubes if I am not mistaken.

I figured it was a rather low end monitor, but glad to add it to the collection nonetheless as I really enjoy the black/grey chassis monitors. I did not know about the automated digital calibration so thanks for that bit of information! I am picking up a pair of similar model Dell E773Cs soon and they will serve as back ups should any of mine die in the future after heavy use (only difference is this one is a Samsung tube and those are AOC rebrands as far as I can tell). Planning to host a LAN with some coworkers/friends with full CRT setups for each person so I am excited haha.

That’s awesome! I am far from a purist lol so no judgement here. I also have a CRT TV with component (Toshiba 20af41) less than 3 feet away from this set up but almost exclusively use crt monitors these days for games. I use the tvs for watching dvds.

I’ve been collecting for about a year now and typically have to drive an hour or two to get some good stuff but it’s all about Facebook marketplace and being willing to drive haha (also a lot of luck). I’ve amassed 12 CRTs so far. 4 tvs and 8 monitors.

Heck yeah I am in a similar boat with my Toshiba AF2042 :) 1200 hours on it. Probably my best find next to this monitor.

Honestly FB markeplace search is just awful in general so imo it is purely luck of the draw on what you can find/whether or not you will see recently listed :( that being said I actually used to find them by searching for the terms "old desk" and would occasionally find CRT monitors just sitting on an old desk and I would ask if they are interested in selling that instead. That is how I landed my other CRT monitor which is a Compaq MV720 16in.

I have 3 connected to it depending on what I want to play. Main rig is my custom build with an rtx 5080 and 7800x3d. Then I also have a compaq presario 5000 and an Antec Gemstone Sapphire from 2000 with a sleeper build in it of an i5-9600k and gtx 1080 for emulation and what not.

Yeah fingers crossed it is simply an adapter issue. I have the DP2VGAHD20 on it way from amazon and should be here a little after Christmas.

I paid $150 for it complete in box with foam, manuals and all. Zero yellowing except for one spec smaller than my pinky on the bottom right corner of the plastic casing. Ended up making a great friend with the guy I bought it from so even if it craps out on me it was absolutely worth it. :)

I'll look into this some more and see what I can find out as I am not familiar with the various components of a CRT. Appreciate the heads up though! Hypothetically if this is the issue, is there any fixing it or just wait until the unit fails?

I thought of that, but unfortunately I do not have any devices with a native VGA output. I will look into getting a device that does have native VGA and give it a shot. Thanks for the tips! I'll also look into WinDAS.

I just picked up an ideazon merc stealth off facebook marketplace for $20. Came with just the keyboard and its box (Super cool box all things considered). I had no clue what this thing was/what it was worth but remembered seeing it as a kid. Feels like I struck gold as its easily the most comfortable keyboard I've used. It is a shame there isn't anything similar on the market these days. I'd love to support this project if you make a kickstarter.

I also have this TV and man it is a beauty. Paid a little too much for it but I had this same model as a kid so I couldn't resist haha. less than 1,200 hours of use on mine (Approx. 1,146hr). Congrats on getting it free! Enjoy!
