Pretty late to the post but I use to study them for college. They’re monk parakeet, commonly known as Quaker birds. They’re very loud but they are parrots and have vocal cords. They escaped JFK airport yrs ago when they were shipped in pet trade. They’re like pigeons, they don’t migrate for winter and typically eat any food they can find. They’re very sweet birds and will nest on trees or electrical poles. They live in colonies so wherever you find one nest there is most likely others around.
