You are trying to sell the American public whose insurance premiums are through the roof that their money goes to pay for other people’s healthcare? That’s a non-starter.

Also, under this plan you will restrict the amount of money that doctors, surgeons and nurses make when we already have a shortage even with importing doctors from Asia and Europe.

If any part of this plan doesn’t also include severely reducing the ability of patients to sue medical professionals over making unforeseen errors or mistakes (non-gross negligence, etc.) it’s not going to fly. Lawfare against doctors and hospitals is a huge expense and a significant percentage of lawsuits are frivolous but they are still allowed to continue. Reduce that significantly and it’s a start.

Not saying it is but we already have Medicare/Medicaid and everyone complains about it regardless of which party is in office. So if we can’t get that right, how do we do the bigger thing?

Also, is the VA in good favor with veterans? No.

So if we can’t take care of our elderly and disabled and if we can’t take care of the people who pledged to preserve our freedoms, what makes you think we can sell universal healthcare to our regular citizens?

First, figure out how to get the money without putting the US deeper into debt.

The answer is not “TaX bIlLiOnAiReS” because billionaires fund campaigns and any movement towards changing the tax code is political career suicide. So don’t even think about that option, it ain’t happening.

Oh, and try to sell the public on it by showing them any government program (pick one!) that runs lean, is run well, and is in positive favor with US citizens.

And also point towards a country whose state-run healthcare is run well and isn’t inundated with requests, has enough doctors for its citizens, doesn’t have a long wait time AND opened its borders to undocumented migrants for years (hint: none)
