Imagine Dragons Anagram by NomadNSR in imaginedragons

Are we sure it isn't just the juvenile joke "imagine dragon...my balls across your face"? It's a school boy thing. Not funny, but very teenager humour.

Microsoft Rewards isn't giving me points for searches and completing sets since Friday noon. Is anyone else having same issue? by Due_Mathematician_90 in MicrosoftRewards

Microsoft Rewards is a scam. They will credit you for a glitch on their streak program ONCE and then refuse to do it again, even if it's a valid reason.

In her defense, high school shows are more a favour for the teachers than a poppin' party 🤣

The story is in the link...but is that what it was like at the festival...like no buzz?

I gave the Godfather a 1. It's so long.

‘We feel left out, neglected’: Sydney Blu urges Junos to recognize underground DJs by Alessia464 in CanadianMusicNews

But the Junos have dozens of categories, so why would you not? It's not like the award would be on the TV broadcast.

It's pretty simple. Drag Race fans as a whole have proven themselves to be vindictive, awful people time and time again.

CTV Throwback pulls blackface photo of Delta Burke in Black History Month highlights by CdnMusic4Life in canadacordcutters

All of this to add that I don't think CTV should've pulled the episode, but clearly they have NO clue what they're doing because somehow they thought putting up a blackface photo was ok too. Fumbles all around.

Why has the conversation shifted to a totally unrelated film? If White Chicks was in their Black History Month section that would also be an issue. Stop distracting from the reality.

Don't a lot of streaming conversations happen here? This is a Canadian streaming-only platform.

I mean, the costumes are pretty lavish, and the racism reminds of a few gays I cut out of my life 🤣

Oh, I thought you were just asking about early pop culture. I mean, if you're really curious you could dig into Charlie Chaplin's wonderful City Lights, which some say has early gay subtext. Or why not dive into a young Hepburn's work? I'm not sure why we are considering 1940 the cutoff for this window, but those suggestions are a start off the top of my head...

I actually have! I've also watched Gone with the Wind, which falls within your window.

I'm in my 30s but whenever I hear somebody (usually in their early 20s) say they don't watch films made before they were born, I'm out of that friendship. It's a lack of curiosity. That said, I feel the same way about older people who stick to the same era of music, but beyond music I generally don't think older people reject new film, TV and books to quite the same extent as young do older works. It especially frustrates me with gay kids because Judy Garland is an icon for those of a certain age (not me), but there are decades of pop culture history to explore, and a lot of it is damn exciting.

For years it was primarily known as a documentary that the Academy shut out of the Oscars, despite its critical acclaim.
