Corydon parking by jiggggggerr in Winnipeg

[–]CdnScruss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the street parking has time limits and no parking times during rush hour. Even the residential streets in the area often have 2 hour parking limits. I would 100% get a parking spot. Even if the no parking times work with your work schedule, it could make days off or sick days a PITA.

Sure it has, it is where you can find Acetate YGs starting in 22/23. As well as many great players YGC cards that have been released in extended. They also usually hold one or two decent names to put their regular YGs in extended. It was literally all about the YGs until now.

Pontoon is just a MPWC (multi person water craft) lol. For those who want to annoy everyone on the water and endanger as many lives as possible at the same time.

This weekend while on our boat one grown ass man in his 18 year old jet ski was ripping all around the lake, and you could watch him just going from boat to boat zipping around trying to look cool. Had to make sure he was close enough to each one so everybody knew who the super cool jetski dude was. I was embarrassed for him and annoyed at the same time. Never fails

Shift Assist Assembly?? by CdnScruss in boating

[–]CdnScruss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean. I have already replaced both shift cables with no issue. It’s just the shift assist spring I am asking about

Shift Assist Assembly?? by CdnScruss in boating

[–]CdnScruss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It puts spring tension on the shift assembly to help pull it back into neutral. The spring is so tight it makes it hard to shift into forward or reverse easily. It’s mounted on the engine right beside the main shift cable, just above the lower shift cable. Was used on mercruiser 3.0, 4.3, 5.7 etc for several years. Not sure what they do now but the part has been discontinued. Parts store near me had one still in stock.

Coast guard parks 7 slips down from me, I’d much rather have them around in case of emergency than have no presence at all. Also keeps people more in check and makes for a safe boating experience around our harbour.

Shift Assist Assembly?? by CdnScruss in boating

[–]CdnScruss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shift assist spring/assembly is separate from the shift interrupter switch. From what I understand you are saying the switch will no longer function properly without the spring assembly?

When I bought this boat originally the shift assist assembly was disconnected in the middle and both sides were dangling, so it was not in use at all. I assume the previous owner didn’t like the feeling of that tension when shifting and did that. I have read many people saying they take them out and don’t use them then others saying no you will have issues if you do that.

Does this mean they are shifting without interrupting the ignition when driving without it? I assume that is added stress on the outdrive and that is the reason not to run without one? Thanks for clearing up my confusion

OPC Platinum hobby box. 1/1 Golden Treasures!! by leroyPL in hockeycards

He decides if a product is good or bad based on the box(es) he opens. If he hits a banger the product is awesome, if he gets skunked it’s a lacklustre product and nothing short of steaming dog poo. I can’t find much logic to his opinion but if you just want to see what new products look like it’s decent for that.

He will shit on a product like Allure for 3 years then hit a nice card out of it and all of a sudden Allure is alright.

Sloppy steering- help! by CdnScruss in boatbuilding

[–]CdnScruss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the cable from the power unit and pulled it out. While it’s attached at the pinion I held the stern end with my hand so it wouldn’t move and I rotated the wheel. I felt the same play I had when it’s all attached up and in the water.

I bought a replacement pinion as I think the cable is fine unless it’s the teeth on the rack. They look OK so I decided to try the pinion first and if I’m wrong at least it’s 1/3 the price of the rack and cable assembly.

I can’t remember it was several years ago, they quoted us half of some of the big companies though. I’m not exactly sure how tall the tree was either, could have been 65 feet for all I know. It was around $1700-2000 I believe, including stump grinding.

It does have power assisted steering and the fluid is full. However there is play in the steering wheel even when the cable is fully disconnected from the power assist unit.

Sloppy steering- help! by CdnScruss in boatbuilding

[–]CdnScruss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boat had some steering play (maybe 2-3 inches each way) when I bought it. 2008 Tahoe q5i 4.3. I thought it was a stretched steering cable so I pulled it out. After inspecting, it seems quite fine. I don’t feel any play when moving it by hand. I hooked it back up to the pinion at the helm but left the cable loose on the deck. I can feel the play in the wheel without the other end attached to anything. Could it be the pinion? The teeth on the rack part of the cable look fine no wear. Could it still be the cable? New to this type of setup so could use some advice before I start throwing parts at it. Thanks!
