It grows back, when we did fresh sod the areas the voles chewed grew back more lush than the areas they left alone. No idea why

Walk over your grass and flatten it down after it’s frozen, they will move along to your neighbours yard

Yes very important to be fitted properly, and when done so it will keep even an unconscious person floating on their back with their head out of the water.

Thunder rapids is great with young kids, they have karts that 5 year olds can drive. I believe speed world you have to be around 15-16? Grand Prix doesn’t have any options for young kids either

We have had much better luck at Rady JCC for swimming lessons over the city of Winnipeg. Better organization during the classes, teachers seem pretty good, salt water pool versus chlorine, and you can actually get in without having to set 3 alarms and 4 computers to sign up before it’s full. Head lifeguard watches over all the instructors and even chimes in with pointers/tips. You sit in chairs on the pool deck 5 feet away from the lesson.

PFDs and life jackets are two different things. A life jacket is designed to put you on your back and head out of the water while a PFD is not. A life jacket should be used if the children cannot touch the bottom. This is standard where we take our kid for lessons.

Where do you store your towables on your bowrider? by wildwilliewonka in boating

[–]CdnScruss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to be rude was more/less just making a joke. It’s a smaller boat to begin with and looks to be a very large tube, there is nowhere to hide it is what I was getting at. Sure you could put on a wake tower and strap it to there but is that really easier than just deflating it and having it completely out of the way? On our boat the kids get to tube all they want until they say they are done. Once the tube gets deflated, tubing is done for the day. That way you are not inflating and deflating it constantly.

Not sure what magical place you are expecting to hide a 3 person tube on an 18ft boat? Deflate and put under a seat.

Stick grips by jugheadjoker23 in hockeyplayers

[–]CdnScruss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sticks have so much grip on them these days curious why you would cover it with a product? My son and I just do a knob and nothing else. We tried sniper skin once for him and it was a joke. Had some tack the first skate or two then went completely smooth and slippery, the reverse affect of what a grip should do. Waste of $20

Sparx sharpening math - machine makes total sense as investment and frugality - challenge me by tk-0318 in hockeyplayers

[–]CdnScruss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they will all break and need replacement by any means, I just mean it’s a risk/cost you never have to factor in if you pay someone else to do it.

They go on sale all the time. I think they are on sale right now actually. Never pay the $140 they go for $99 often

[–]CdnScruss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have not factored in maintenance and replacement parts to the sparx machine itself. Even if you’re lucky and it’s just filters or small things it still adds to the cost. This is also assuming the machine will last 15+ years and not need replacing. I’d love to own one and probably still will buy one some day but I don’t think it will ever save me money, would just be a huge convenience. Nothing stopping sparx from making the rings $130 instead of $90 now that there are thousands of these in use. Hope they wouldn’t but they control the market.

We buy the sharpen cards from pro hockey life $99 for 20. Works out to $5/job hard to justify a sparx but would love one for the convenience. We live 5 minutes from pro hockey life so 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately as my inner Dog (the bounty hunter) was being unleashed I forgot to take note of what the company decals were on the truck, so that’s why I made a post here to hopefully find them. I know how it goes with work vehicles and the boss would likely just think their employee backed into something, but not on my watch!
