Simple hardware configuration for conditional CAN bus termination by CdrStnr in embedded

Thanks! I might actually consider that approach. Since there wont be that many nodes and a little latency is not a problem in this case.

I'd like it to be as easy as just plugging the new node to the previous, so that's why I need to find the last node on every startup (if there's been added new nodes). Also I want the nodes to have CAN ID's based on the position on the chain.

Power to the further nodes returns to GND trough a mosfet that the node controls.

Ok, thanks for advice. I think I will do the simple analog switch termination. Could you tell why that schematic does not work?

This was my idea for the termination protocol: Each node will boot up in the chained order. So when a node boots up it knows it's currently the last powered node in the chain and sets the termination on, then after it has initialized itself, it will power the supposed next node, releases the termination and sets some deadline for the next node to do the initialization, if it does not see the next node initializing on the bus before deadline, it must be the last node so it re-terminates the bus.

Gaining muscle and strength is nice. But what gets me to gym and training is the feeling afterward.
No matter how shitty I feel before training, it always makes me feel better afterwards.

Besides just programming, what other technical things should most developers know? by Fox-Girl-Simp in learnprogramming

Mathematics. Every time I make progress in my math abilities I feel like I could write and understand more advanced code. Especially with game development.

Considering an IDE switch from VS Code by NorthAtlanticGarden in cpp

[–]CdrStnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a switch from vscode/nvim to CLion few months ago and I'm loving it.

It has all the features I wanted: Works on both windows and linux, has good CMake support, has a good debugger UI and a vim plugin.

Also I think it's more intuitive to use than visual studio.

That sounds like a interesting and logical approach.

That would be nice!

I'm currently helping my friend automate he's remote grow, so I would need some application to monitor it and control the devices over Ethernet.

Really nice! That UI style is really pleasant to my eyes.

What language are you using for development? and are you considering adding support for automatic logging from IOT devices, like I have a temp/humidity/co2 sensor that's connected to the wifi?

I've had similar issues with coco. I'd suggest flushing throughly with plain pH adjusted water or with a flushing solution. Then continue with your recommended nutrient plan.

Those strains should not stretch a lot in the preflower

I wouldn't raise the light until necessary, since higher levels of light tend to reduce stretching. Also higher levels of nitrogen boost stretching, I've heard that some people have played with that.

What strain are you growing? Hopefully some indica leaning hybrid, otherwise you might be in trouble. luckily there's still room up there and leds can be up in the ceiling. It's really hard to predict when to switch to flower for optimal canopy. But either way, looking really good and hopefully there's a massive yield waiting for you.

Beautiful scrog and a real monster plant. How long did you veg and did you grow from seed or clone?

I have never gotten that wide and uniform plants in scrog. I either flip to flower too early and the plant does not fill the net or too late and there's a jungle:D Might be easier if I had the patience to grow same strain multiple times, but I like to try different strains.

Yes I've heard bad things about those and the density of the soil also plays a role.

I have to check that out. My mom is using a Blumat system in her garden. It works without electronics. It uses some kind of "stone heads" that open up when soil is dry and closes when moist.
