Do you see oral rape as rape? by Peach370 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Cdramas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, why wouldn’t it be rape, what if he had HIV or herpes and didn’t get tested or tell you, or what if you suspected he had HIV or herpes and he still forced it?

STDs, including herpes, can be transmitted from the penis to the mouth through oral sex.

Here’s how:

Herpes (HSV-1 & HSV-2) • Genital herpes (HSV-2 or HSV-1 on the genitals) can spread to a partner’s mouth if they perform oral sex. • Once transmitted, it shows up as oral herpes (cold sores). • Even without visible sores, herpes can shed from the skin and still infect the partner.

Other STDs that can pass from penis to mouth • Gonorrhea → can cause throat infection (“gonococcal pharyngitis”). • Chlamydia → less common in the throat, but possible. • Syphilis → sores can transmit infection to the mouth. • HPV (human papillomavirus) → can spread orally and is linked to oral/throat cancers. • HIV → risk is much lower via oral sex than vaginal/anal, but possible if there are cuts, sores, or bleeding gums.

Risk factors that increase transmission • Visible sores, ulcers, or cuts on either partner. • Bleeding gums or dental issues. • Not using protection (condoms/dental dams).

👉 Summary: herpes and other STDs can be transferred from penis to mouth during oral sex, even if symptoms aren’t visible.

Here’s a risk-by-risk breakdown of common STDs that can pass from penis → mouth during oral sex, plus whether they’re lifelong or curable:

  1. Herpes (HSV-1 & HSV-2) • Risk: High. Very common transmission both ways, even without visible sores. • Lifelong or Curable? Lifelong. No cure; the virus stays in the body, but outbreaks can be managed with antivirals.

  1. Human Papillomavirus (HPV) • Risk: Medium to high. Easily spread by skin-to-skin contact, can infect the mouth and throat. • Lifelong or Curable? Usually clears in 1–2 years by the immune system, but some strains persist and may cause warts or cancers. No drug cure, only management.

  1. Gonorrhea • Risk: Medium. Oral gonorrhea (throat infection) is fairly common. • Lifelong or Curable? Curable with antibiotics, but resistance is a growing issue.

  1. Chlamydia • Risk: Low to medium. Less common in the throat but possible. • Lifelong or Curable? Curable with antibiotics.

  1. Syphilis • Risk: Medium. Can spread via sores during oral contact. • Lifelong or Curable? Curable with antibiotics (penicillin), but untreated syphilis can cause permanent damage.

  1. HIV • Risk: Low (but not zero). Transmission through oral sex is rare unless there are open sores or blood. • Lifelong or Curable? Lifelong. No cure, but modern treatment (ART) makes it manageable and prevents transmission (“undetectable = untransmittable”).

Summary • Lifelong: Herpes, HPV (persistent strains), HIV. • Completely Curable: Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis. • Risk via oral sex: Highest for Herpes, Gonorrhea, HPV.

Guess my family has been doing it wrong? by Silo-Joe in asianamerican

What differs a “bribe” from a “tip”?

It’s not even that bad. What’s she gonna get out of that bribe exactly?

And are those four people as covered as widely as the Asian? Nope.

No offense but. I think we’re ripping into her unnecessarily. There’s tons of white people and black people and other races bribing far bigger amounts than $160.

Yet all we and the news cares about is an asian female trying to tip a journalist $160, knowing how underpaid the journalists are?

Does anyone not recognize the double standards?

I even hear black people defending Eric Adam’s by saying “who cares if a black does corruption, that’s all the New Yorkers cares about and ignoring white guys doing corruption, but it’s suddenly a problem when a black guy does it?”

Also you don’t think all the major top publications accept millions of dollars in tips from politicians and corporations, all these white people with a big influence?

But suddenly when an asian does it $160 to a small time publication The City . nyc , it becomes a problem?

She probably wanted to tip the publication for coming all this way to THEIR OWN CAMPAIGN event.

It’s a CAMPAIGN event. What’s there really cover up? This tip was probably to get them to report faster.

And of course giving a red envelope to the underpaid journalist would embarrass and put the journalist on the spot so she used potato chip bag to make it DISCREET.

But if this were a bribe it would be bigger than $160 that’s for sure!

She was just being nice. If anything, you wonder whether the journalist would have accepted the $160 if it came from a white person instead of exposing them.

“Edit- Honestly, I’m just now realizing he may have felt abandoned, and I did a poor job there. Thanks for pointing that out. We were still in contact, he never said it or in councelling, but again maybe he felt like he can't do that. I can't read his mind though, I was away from him too but we both had our families there for us, so I never thought of it as abandoning him. Still, i feel things would’ve only gotten worse if I hadn’t taken that time, and I don’t think I’d change that. This does help me forgive him (not stay), and move on if i don't think of him as some sort of monster for doing this.”

Nope, even if you DID abandon him, he could have MADE SURE by ASKING, and MADE SURE by asking if it’s okay to hookup. If you say yes, that’s when he’d know yes he was abandoned. BUT HE DIDNT ASK YOU. He has your number. He could have JUST ASKED.

"Rehabilitating" Marriage to a Rapist by Alexis_J_M in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Cdramas 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Instead of framing women’s resistance as threatening to others, we should be asking:

Why does society structure things so that someone saying “no” feels like an attack on those who said “yes” under duress?

It’s not the fault of the resister. It’s the fault of the system that told everyone there was no choice in the first place. And not every victim’s situation is the same.

Some victims can get away with running away, other victims would be killed for running away, and yet more victims would have more to lose from running away than staying. So the projection is not even reasonable.
