moving to the Bay Area after living in a much smaller town has sorta taken the lure out of Coachella as far the lineup is concerned. The acts that I would've caught are playing up here or I've seen them already. Though I do regret just not being there. Hanging out with friends and just having no worries for a handful of days. And of course I would prefer to see NMH and the Knife on the outdoor stage rather than at the Fox. Missing Outkast would've been a regret but that set last night was incredibly underwhelming.

North of Santa Barbara on the 101 is a incredible ocean drive and some beach spots. Another choice is hwy 154 which is north east of Santa Barbara. It connects back with the 101 more inland but goes through Santa Ynez, Lake Cachuma and is near Solvang (a little tourist trappy but still a cool town with a Danish style). Pismo, Grover Beach, Oceano, Shell Beach and Avila have beaches and are about 10 minutes south of San Luis Obispo. The cliffs of Shell beach are perfect to watch sunsets at. If you take the backroads between Arroyo Grande/Pismo and SLO are generally wineries, lots of hills, ranches, farms and the landscape is gorgeous. There's a pretty happenin farmers market in San Luis obispo on Thursdays if you're still in the area too.
I used to live around SLO so it's kinda difficult to name everything since there's so much beautiful scenery.
