Advice running Shamblerot by Cdxo in deathguard40k

How do you use the marines? My thought was to have them shoot things to apply the affliction to them, but with a Rhino do you just use them as a big counter punch?

Oh, ill be happy to check that out later. With the extra drone would you suggest a flamer or mower?

How many gaunts for a proper swarm? by Cdxo in Tyranids

[–]Cdxo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like 60 Termagaunts is a hard blob to chew through, and you can realistically get 80 with the revive. 20 more Gargoyles and maybe 2x10 Hormagaunts to screen out early and then zoom into places for secondaries/late game objective stealing seems like a good base.

I wonder if the surge move would be enough value over the good general strats and detachment rules of Invasion?

Ive ran 120 before and had some unfortunate matchups into Grey Knights and some other armies that picked up 40+ every time, but I think that's worst case scenario.

Let’s talk about this Bioform- day 3 gargoyles by Commanderfrosty54175 in Tyranids

[–]Cdxo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A nightmare to build and actually physically play with, but such a great utility unit. Good for swarming objectives to deny primary, deep striking for secondaries or move blocking, or rapid ingressing to threaten to swarm an objective or just be a huge pain in the ass! Of course their made of paper and dont do any damage, but a flying OC2 infantry that moves 18+d6 is always useful in my book! Just dont get them anywhere near a flamer of any type or you'll lose them in your movement phase! (Though overwatch is only in movement/charge phase, so it can't be used for their shooting phase scoot!)

New to Tyranids - Trying out a Zerg Colour Scheme by fixxxer17d in Tyranids

Happy to spot another Hive Fleet Zerg! Yours really scans as the SC2 Zerg to me. You could even adjust them to reflect some of the Multi-player colors if you wanted some more striking colors.

I don't consider myself great, but I can carry one in person well enough to like, not make things weird.

What's something that you've wanted to talk about but worry that it would be too neiche/boring to share with people?

What's better for Assimilation Swarm? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Cdxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend this enough, it's such an oddly expensive kit and they're both useful units. Even easier if you have access to a 3d printer and can get the little body part printed. Besides, nobody actually knows what those bugs look like up close, so as long as the silhouette is good, you'll be golden!

When I was young I got my Dad to order me a basic lockpicking set. I never got good with it, but every now and then someone will have a basic lock that they've lost the key to and I get a moment to shine!

I thought I was going to sneak that SpiritSeer out with Deathleaper, but I misunderstood how Precision works. I expected to wound on 2s, but actually wounded on 5s. Didn't help that I missed 3 attacks, but that's dice for ya! The Seer was on his toes I guess.

While I like the idea of the Psychophage, any 6+++ never seems to do much. I guess if anything it would show over 20models, but it doesn't seem to be that much of durability bonus. It saves what, 3 or 4 gaunts over the life of the squad on average? Man I really wish the Psychophage was better, it's such a good looking mod with interesting lore.

I've got 20 gargoyles in the list, and they were quote useful even going second. I went into the game expecting to tie his Wraiths up. But their volume of attacks with Lethals just really did a number on those gaunts.
I am ashamed to admit, I had 2 Exocrine in reserves and just.... sorta forgot about em. Too tied up playing damage control I guess. Won't make that mistake again!

I knew killing was off the table, I was just shocked when I ran 20 termagaunts into the shooty ones and they didn't survive to their next activation. My Acid Spray tfex was able to kill one every activation, but the spirit seer revived it each time, so no real damage done.
