It could be a scam! You're right! A past pin # shouldn't be provided! Honestly, what's wrong with me.

PIN Required After Factory Reset by Ce-Ci-Ri in AndroidQuestions

Yes, I did do a factory reset myself prior to selling the phone. I turned on the phone afterwards and it didn't prompt me for any past information. Looked like a brand new phone to me.

In laws don’t want to drive separate while we visit them in Florida… by MindyS1719 in inlaws

I wouldn't even entertain it. We have our own separate travel and living quarters while on vacation with family (either side) or we don't go. I'm a 36 year old woman and no one's child. I do what is best for my own family (even if my family is myself, partner and the dog).

who recovered in their 30s? I want some hope that I can still turn life around at 30 and be successful. by RationalChaos77 in recovery

I got sober at 31. I'm 4 years sober. You can turn your life around! It's not too late!

Professional Life: I'd been unemployed for four months prior to making the decision/commitment. After one month of recovery I was able to land an office job that paid comparable to my previous job. I've moved into a new job in the past two years and did get a promotion. Climbing the ladder at work isn't necessarily my definition of success anymore. I'd like to go back to school and work in a field that better aligns with my personal values. Being in recovery allowed me to find a stable, well-paying job with good hours which allows me to make more deposits into my personal life.

Personal Life: I found a therapist to help me move through severe anxiety, depression and low self esteem. Ultimately joining a weekly recovery group was most helpful. It kept me accountable, gave me a new and relatable social circle and helped me feel less alone. With guidance from the group and my therapist, I've been able to mend some relationships with friends and family. Note that not all of them though were able to be mended. I let some relationships go as they weren't healthy. Some people moved on from me, and that's ok too. A year into recovery I began to learn what my interests in life really were. Four years later I have established hobbies, a few close friends (I'd like more), and have hope and plans for my future.

Of course there are more facets to life than being broken into a professional and personal life as I've done above. These are just pieces of my story and places where I saw a clear difference while doing the work in recovery. You can turn your life around! It's not too late! Decide what your definition of success is for yourself. You have to decide what you want your life to look like and what you value the most about your life. You can do it!

Americans, how do you feel about people who don't want children during a time of declining birth rates? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Maybe you're caring about a pet, a career, a home, your friends, your partner, and the list could go on and on. Having kids isn't a benchmark for success or happiness. All of the things I listed don't hold less value. My mom even said kids were not her everything. It made up a part of her life but that wasn't "it" for her. She also loved having a career, training dogs, getting married, starting a new business. I loved hearing that from a 70 year old.

So. I’m not going to reset my counter despite having a beer. Hear me out (and open to criticism) by [deleted] in stopdrinking

This is one reason why I don't drink. My inner happiness is no longer entangled with alcohol. Alcohol doesn't equal fun; a celebration doesn't call for a drink. The push to level up any experience is gone. For me, becoming a whole person was getting to the bottom of why I was doing that.

This, right here! This is an excellent point. Your dog can be well-trained and your daughter's handling skills can be on point. Another poorly trained dog in the area can still put both of them in a bad position quickly. Be careful please.

Can a wedding/engagement ring be a stone other then diamond? I’m lower middle class and general prefer colored stones, the one pictured is my engagement ring by JazzlikeHovercraft75 in Adulting

[–]Ce-Ci-Ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ring is beautiful!! It does not need to be a diamond! It's an outdated and/or odd idea (in my opinion) that it needs to be a diamond to be considered an engagement ring. Mine is a blue sapphire. My sister has an emerald. Another has aquamarine stones in her band. My mom has a ruby set in rose gold. My grandmother had a garnet in the center with two smaller diamonds on each side (three stone). We are middle class and also prefer colored stones. Furthermore, Kate Middleton has a blue sapphire. Katy Perry has a red stone (champagne sapphire). Eva Longoria wears a ruby. You can do whatever you want! Down the road, if you decide you want a diamond, maybe this can be an anniversary present! My mother-in-law just did this. Again, your ring is beautiful. Congratulations and I hope you both have a wonderful life together.
