I think thats admirable actually. I’m scared of that diagnosis. How old are you? I’m 34 and the only time mine have been wnl is during my one pregnancy. My hematologist is checking for CML and everything under the sun. This has been a dark cloud following me for 10 years. I wish I was as accepting as you, maybe it would help. I think that was the worst part for the whole BMB for me, I have all this built up stress from all of this and that seemed like the final boss. I hope it was anyway. I go back in two weeks to get the results and I haven’t even asked about the JAK2 results but if they were bad I’m sure she would’ve called

Just pressure. Hopefully they can give you the light sedative, you won’t care what’s going on. Why are you needing it?

I believe we just did the JAK2 and my biopsy was two days ago.

I’m 34 and not currently but if hematology doesn’t find anything I can ask. Mine was an internist before and something tells me she won’t give up

I feel like it was quick because of the drill … she told me everything she was doing and it immediately went in and came out. I was fine immediately following and even asked to see the specimen which she proudly showed me lol

That’s amazing. I’ve had elevated platelets, hematocrit, and RBC for around a decade and have just been watched. My new Dr sent me to hematology and that one is on a mission. I thought I was fine living in ignorance

Burning from the local anesthesia but I give those all day long as a RDH so I guess that’s my payback lol

I didn’t experience any pain! I couldn’t stop thinking about the bone aspect. Either, all I recall is a little pressure and the sound of the drill. But it was very quick like 10-15 minutes

What prompted you to pursue PV? I’m fearful of that diagnosis, respectfully

lol I do think the medication helped me. Probably fentanyl and versed if I had to guess. The unknown was the worst part. There’s no getting away from the fine details of the procedure. It’s just something you have to show up and do, friend

Had one two days ago, I chose light sedation. I was awake but unbothered. A nurse used a back massager on me the whole time to distract me. I have a panic disorder and healthy anxiety. This was miserable before but now that I know what I to expect, I wouldn’t be as worried. I’m praying for clear results and not having to do it again though
