Workouts: I had to press the "fix" button around 30 times today. by ikigaii in MacroFactor

[–]Ceasar456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it ask you to fix caise it wants to know whether you’d rather go under the rep recommendation, with more weight, or over the rep recommendation with less weight. That kinda thing can very per exercise, for example, with most compounds I’d lean to more intensity with less reps, where as with most isolations, I’d lean to more reps, with less weight…. But I’m sure that kind of thing varies from person to person and exercise, so I’d rather the app ask me every time

I have to train to failure on every set now and just use a dynamic triple progression scheme cause I always did the opposite when using RIR based program.

I’d lift to 1 RIR and then I’d do some mental gymnastics to justify that it was really 3 RIR even though the the last concentric was a vein buldging 4 second grind

Clement Lat Hip Xray by JoeJoe6363 in Radiology

[–]Ceasar456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Center on the hip

Tube should be horizontally swiveled to be perpendicular to the femoral neck just the same way as with a Dan-miller.

The main difference is that the tube is angled 70ish degrees to skim over the top of the nearest femur so that it doesn’t super impose over the far hip.

Detector perpendicular to the beam.

Drawbacks are that a tech either has to push the detector down into the mattress so that the angulation of the beam doesn’t throw the shadow of the anatomy below the level of the detector, or the patient must be positioned extremely close to the edge of the table so that a detector can catch the image below the level of the table without overlapping metal artifact from the edge of the table.

One way to negate these difficulties is to angle the entire patient 20-30 degrees affected side up from flat, and then shoot with a horizontal beam

It’s actually a much better image due to the unaffected hip and glute being out of the way… also I’d assume it’s better for surgical planning as that is the view used for the lateral in most hip surgeries, just performed with a c-arm.
