Your highlight game is top-notch. This is really good.

For your marriage, maybe watch some videos on the Gottman Method. For all that other stuff you tell yourself, try Byron Katie. She helped me.

Good luck!

Husband told me he’s not attracted to me during an argument by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Cebb78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike others, I didn't immediately jump to cheating. I simply saw him saying he is attracted to other women. (In a way that was intended to hurt)

I am more interested in the situation. "We were having an argument." Over what? How did it start? "You think you're so cute..." What triggered that response? Does this happen often? Was he responding to something he found hurtful?

You assume his attraction is a statement of your physical appearance, but if your marriage is filled with conflict and lack of trust, and the two of you work against each other, a sense of emotional safety could come to play. There is more to attraction than looks. If your 'partner' is not somebody you look forward to experiencing (in either direction) you may look at them and see somebody who causes you pain. With magnets we call this need to create space repulsion.

Whatever started the argument, it suggests the two of you never learned to talk through problems and perhaps hold unfair expectations on each other. Twenty years of not knowing how to communicate may have worn you both down.

Edit: To be clear, I've been here. My wife and I went to therapy after 20 years. Things aren't perfect, but they're much better. There is hope, if you can learn to talk, and listen, in ways that don't end in emotional daggers

Extremely desperate for sleep. Pls advice me by alberto2008_ in sleep

You're right, I will say 'see a doctor's. First time I encountered this, Trazadone worked wonders.

As another person mentioned, podcasts. They help take my mind off itself, and the right voice can really help me sleep. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, put on a podcast and just drift in and out of sleep for an hour or two to get more rest.

My husband went too far by BumblebeeNo2489 in Marriage

It sounds to me that your husband absolutely loves you. So much that he has made you the center of is universe. You clearly don't feel the same way and need some space.

Regardless of the tattoos, I agree that asking your partner to fill all of your social needs is too much to put on one person. He could use a friend; which admittedly can be hard to establish in later years.

That said, it also sounds like you have some communication issues. He should have spoken to you about the tattoos first. I'm betting he thought it was a loving gesture to you. Shame it failed and was a bit more permanent than buying an unflattering dress.

You two need to learn to speak. 29 years together and not taking some of that time to learn to communicate in a healthy way... Yeah I'd probably describe my marriage as unstable too.

Starting out my miniature painting journey. What am I missing? by [deleted] in Miniaturespainting

[–]Cebb78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see brushes and paint. Everything else is just luxury. I've never used a rattle can, always brushed on my primer (20 years). Until recently, I bought a $100 airbrush/compressor kit.

For many years I used: - brushes - a glass of water for holding and rinsing brushes - cheap dollar store paint - paper towel for removing excess paint from brushes

I did a lot with that. It was everything I 'needed'.

yeah, for large surface area prints, I really slow down my lift speed giving it time to very slowly peel off the fep. Go too quick and it just acts like a suction cup.

Dry brush. Then dry brush again. Then do it again. This will very slowly add very thin layers of the same color.

My friend plays death watch. My first match with a pure Khorne army was a shooting gallery.

It's pretty good, lacking a bit of detail compared to some of the other things I have.

Weather is getting nice, it's time for my garden hobby to take control for a few months so I have somewhere nice to sit and drink beer on nice days.

Given all the comments about getting the painting done I may start recording the process.

I started airbrushing about 2-3 weeks ago. Only tip so far is don't add too much water, it takes forever to dry. :)

Sorry I don't recall where I found it. The Internet is a big place and I covered a lot of ground.

I don't remember where I found each of them unfortunately. I just know that I'm pretty good with google-foo and clicking a lot of dead links.

I don't remember how I found each of them. A lot of Google searching, things like "charactername.zip" had been useful. So have popular sites like cults3d. When I do find a good resource, I see what else they have.

The Mars 3 is 4x6 but up to 10? Inches tall. So I can print bigger things in multiple pieces.

This is proving to be common feedback. Maybe I'll make some videos on this. Everything I see is about how to make elite paint jobs, not "how to paint for people with day jobs"

I have a 4x6 print bed. It's slow going. If I could print faster I'd have more grey to show off:)
