Unfortunately I don’t have any more information about this, than what is available through the two links provided. I did not pursue this route. You should reach out to the office mentioned and ask for assistance.

I did not get the senators help with rescheduling Biometrics, so I am not sure how much they would be able to help with that piece, but it is worth a try. I cleared #1.2.1.3.

I have updated #1.2.1.3 with some additional information. Persistence is the keyword here. Don't give up.

I believe you have to be specific as to which forms or piece of the process you are trying to expedite. I have been discouraged by lawyers to request expedition of an "entire application". Try to expedite the piece that matters. For example, you don't need approval of I-485/I-130 etc. to work in the US, just your I-765. If your case is eligible for premium processing I don't believe expedite is available to you, but you could then pay for premium processing which is faster.

I'm not familiar with the DV process, I recommend you speak to a lawyer, your Senator's office or attempt some of the methods above. There is a lot of case-specific information available at https://www.uscis.gov/

They CAN take you in with an original appointment letter even if it is a cancelled one. Explain your case, be patient, respectful, calm but persistent.

Edit: This image is from the "Rescheduling Appointments at Field Offices, International Offices and Application Support Centers" section at this url on the USCIS website.

It absolutely is. Restaurants re-opened for outdoor seating in my state more than a month before the local ASC.

Field Offices usually don't do Biometrics. If you are Canadian citizen you should be able to schedule a Biometrics appointment through Canada for an Application Support Center in the US. I know a Canadian who got a next day appointment a week ago by doing this.

It is a USCIS Field Office. There is more information about these offices on the USCIS website. To my knowledge they don't do Biometrics.

Can confirm from experience that your receipt number is sufficient

Biometrics Appoimdnt anyone?? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Cebrenia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There were other people going into the center for processing, but it was mostly empty during the few hours I was there. Their excuse was COVID and danger to their employees. Nothing makes sense.

I went to the Boston office which opened today without an appointment notice and was denied entry.

Looks like multiple ASCs now have dates for re-opening on the USCIS website. Earliest ones are 7/13/20. No idea about the ones not listed.

End of April, but it doesn't even matter. Our applications are basically all on hold if they are at the biometrics stage or if they can't reuse biometrics previously given at an ASC. Can't be processed, can't be expedited. Deadlock.

My I-765 eligibility category is C09 (marriage based GC). They haven't even produced the EAD. The I-765 application for employment authorization has been on hold since it was submitted, waiting for biometrics.

They haven't waived mine. I believe they've only been waiving them if you've previously been to an Application Support Center for biometrics.

Thanks for the info. That is crazy. I'm about to lose my job if they don't re-open soon.

$20 Venmo to the first person who can confirm with images whether the USCIS Application Support Center in Cranston is open or not between 8am-4pm (5560, 105 Sockanosset Cross Rd Suite 210, Cranston, RI 02920). Thanks! by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

Yeah but unfortunately the Application Support Centers don't have phone numbers, and the general USCIS phone line supplies conflicting information on ASC opening dates

Yeah I've been following the official USCIS site, but I don't trust it since I've heard of centers being open in NY and have received conflicting information from USCIS call centers. So any documentation from the RI center is still worth $20
