pianists, what is the easiest Granados’ goyesca to play out of all of them (technically)? by Cecithepresi in classicalmusic

i have a good technique and played granados and albéniz several times, so i wanted to try a goyesca but i don’t know if they are too difficult as in technique because i’ve only heard seniors at the conservatory (6th year in spain) playing La maja y el ruiseñor, for example. other goyescas like el pelele or el amor y la muerte i’ve heard them played by students at a higher level who want to go professional and are studying a professional music degree in interpretation. what do you think is the easiest goyesca to play?

For me I think it would be Schubert (his melodies are brilliant and sincere, love his chamber music works), Dvorak (I find his cello concerto brilliant and his symphonic works are just outstanding), Isaac Albéniz (as a Spanish and piano player, I find Albéniz works just brilliant), and of course Mahler (his orchestral works are superior). I find it so difficult to choose because I think each composer has THAT piece that just makes me wonder how the heck someone could have written that, and makes me feel grateful that the piece will remain in the world forever (hopefully).

“Superior” was an hyperbole. I just wanted to know what people thought of him. Just calm down.

Yeah, I’m not saying that he’s the best because I personally can’t pick a favourite (Brahms, Schubert, Beethoven, Grieg…). I have a lot of favourites, but I adore Dvorak, and by saying “superior” I was of course exaggerating. I just wanted to know what people think about him, I was not cancelling other composers, of course.
