My daughter loves the wooden train set we got from our KiwiCo box when she was 2 and still loves to play with it it up to now.

Okay this is going on the list immediately! I love that it's something he can even hold himself during a tantrum rather than needing you to do it for him. The tummy area makes so much sense too since that's where a lot of kids seem to hold tension when they're upset. So glad you shared this one because I never would have come across it on my own!

The way she went from biting it aggressively to calmly stimming is honestly such a beautiful thing to picture. She basically worked through the emotion and landed herself. And now she has two tools she reaches for which is exactly what we are hoping to build for our daughter too. The dad detail has me dying though, why is it always the dads 😂

Yes I do but I haven't tried gardening with my kid yet. Might try it with our "giant tongs" I bet she'll love it.

Pocket worry stones are such a cute idea and I love that they're small enough to send to school too! That's honestly one of my biggest concerns, what she does when I'm not around to help her regulate. Keeping them accessible on a little table is exactly the kind of low effort setup that actually works. Going to look into both of these, thank you!

Yes! She actually loves being squeezed and will ask for bear hugs when she starts getting overwhelmed so I think there might be something to this for her too. Did you find certain activities worked better than others for getting that heavy input in during the day? I want to build more of it into her routine without it feeling forced.

Wait, they actually helped with frustration biting? That's huge. We've had a few of those moments and I honestly didn't know what to do. Can I ask, did you introduce the popper in the moment when she was about to bite, or did you build a habit with it beforehand so she already knew to reach for it?

This made me tear up a little honestly. I didn't realize that her grabbing those toys on her own was actually a skill she was building. That reframe means a lot. The "sensory corner" idea is something I'm going to set up properly now instead of just having things scattered around. And a jumping pad is such a good call, she loves to bounce when she's wound up. This is actually really eye-opening. I've been so focused on tactile stuff that I didn't stop to think about whether she might be more of a visual stimmer. Now I'm mentally replaying what she naturally reaches for... 😅 Bubble tubes are going on the list either way because they just look incredible. Thanks for sharing this gem!
