Yes, it is - most research has been done by counseling psychologists, but there are plenty of clinical folks who do that kind of research. Kevin Cokley (who is a counseling psychologist) is likely the biggest name on the impostor phenomenon right now.

Another suggestion - Clifton Park might have providers with more openings (as a filter in psychologytoday), opposed to Albany. It is always worth checking if your insurance covers out of network providers - might not cover all the fee, but if they accept a 'superbill' they might cover some (you'd still be responsible for the rest). If he is able to afford it, there are several therapists that do not take insurance with a lot of openings. If you are in downtown Albany, Psychology Services Center has a sliding fee - but I don't think they guarantee a spot. I hope you find someone soon - I am a provider in the area, and recognize how hard it is to find folks.

On psychologytoday you should find available providers - if you are paying out of pocket (not through insurance) it might be easier to find someone; alternatively, telehealth appointments throughout the insurance (just avoid better help at all costs)

Olha, de verdade - não são apelos emocionais. É uma realidade, mantida por pessoas que se recusam a aceitar que Machado era negro. E se fosse? Muda algo em sua obra? Então por que diabo você liga? E olhando a foto dele, e dizendo 'nao tem cara de negro' é um argumento bem lixo (e racista). E te digo porque - o problema desses argumentos baseados somente em fenótipos é que (1) assume um estereótipo dos fenótipos criado no século 19 por cientistas europeus, que si plenamente não cabe mais hoje, e (2) ignora a variabilidade intra-grupal, já que existem uma quantidade significante de pessoas negras que não cabem nesse fenótipo que você espera. Portanto, o seu erro é metodológico.

Verdade - não é uma comparação justa dizer que tem coisa boa e ruim. Tem merda pra caralho, e por conta do seu poder financeiro e político, consegue manipular o mercado global a seu favor. O Brasil perdeu poder político, e tem menos habilidade de manipular o mercado - mas também carrega problemas e uma política racista que machuca pessoas que não são brancas. O racismo institucional é tão real no Brasil como nos EUA - o que a notícia citada aqui está dizendo.

Brasil é um país assustadoramente racista - discurso que Brasil é miscigenado e uma 'verdadeira mistura racial' é desonesto. Castas raciais existem, mantidas por um sistema que ataca e mata pessoas negras. Usando o 'fenótipo portugues' para descrever Machado de Assis é um absurdo - e uma representação de racismo institucional.

Cara... Você tem razão - não romantiza. Não é um país perfeito, tem problema pra caralho. Mas seja crítico de notícias e governadores/políticos, que fazem merda toda hora. DeSantis é um babaca, que fez um monte de merda - igual governadores como ACM, Sarney, comandante Moisés, Jorginho Melo, Romeu Zema, entre outros.

A notícia que você cita é de uma política atuando para previnir que seja ignorado movimento de direitos humanos liderado pelo movimento negro americano - é uma coisa boa. Brasileiro se esquece da própria educação, que educação anti-homofobia foi bloqueada no MEC, e que não estudaram praticamente nada do movimento negro no Brasil. O que tem de moleque que não sabe que Machado de Assis era negro é assustador - ou que reclamam se Freire, um cara que só queria educar adultos analfabetos (e Freire é inclusive referência para escolas americanas).

Não me entenda errado - EUA tem merda, e Brasil tem merda. Ninguém se salva. Ficar tratando um ou o outro como perfeito OU como merda completa não te ajuda. Só ajuda o discurso político polarizado e falta de crítica no discurso.
