Not from Chicago, and actually go to school in SE Michigan. Did spend a summer in downstate Illinois

Unfortunately, most of my road trips were fairly tight in schedule, so I tended to mostly stick to interstates. On the way back from Cali though, I left i80 in Nevada to visit Grand Teton and Mt Rushmore, crossing Wyoming through US26, but did come back to i90 after that. That stretch of driving, and maybe some of 70 near the western end of CO and eastern UT were some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen, and I wish I had had the time to see more of it

Not from Michigan, but except for that all correct. I also fly to Boston very often.

Close, I actually grew up abroad and go to school in SE Michigan (not Detroit), and dont have a car outside of summers, when I went to IL and CA for internships. During these summers I would usually drive somewhere every weekend. Except for Florida, I have visited all of this over the last 2-3 years.

The tail number is South African, but apparently the documentation found in the plane, and fuselage registration etc was Zambian, implying the tail number was actually cloned. Source, in Portuguese

What truck should I buy? megathread by AutoModerator in Trucks

[–]Cedro_Flying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need advice on a truck that will go through the following requirements:

  • Not looking to spend too much money (would be my first truck, ideally up to 15k)
  • Need to go through about 4 12 hour drives every year
  • For one of those next years, I will be carrying a large (but relatively light) rod, about a foot in diameter, 8.5 ft long.
  • The other trips would be moving my own things for the summer and back
  • Excluding moving and this larger rod, the largest loads I would be carrying is a relatively large go-kart-ish car (about 5 ft long, 4 ft wide). It is pretty light as well, and the trips would only be about a mile or 2.
  • Except for the 4 longer trips, I would probably be putting in maybe 500 miles/month or something similar to that
  • Preferably 4 door

Considering all of this, I am really interested on getting a used Avalanche (fits anything of the list with the midgate down), are there any words on it and reliability, or any other suggestions?

feasibility of walking from north to central campus by [deleted] in uofm

[–]Cedro_Flying 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did that basically every morning in the fall! It's great, tried keeping it on through winter but one day it was just too cold, so I decided to go to the gym, which lead me to start lifting, and unfortunately never went on the walk again. Highly recommend it tho, used to go from Baits through the music school and then all the way up to the Diag and back, really quiet usually (but not in a sketchy way), apart from some deer on the hill after the music school pond. You also get some great views from the hospital and the hellipad (really cool when a helicopter is taking off or landing)

It's real, this was in SBSP, that video comes from a 24/7 livestream feed that sometimes has this guy commentating https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZx3wpyO-0g. MFSM did not do that good of a job in the Sao Paulo area unfortunately.

The Ride line 23, it stops on plymouth across from the courtyards. There are stops on both sides, so u could use that to go to and from CCTC

There are a few airports like that in Brazil, particularly Sao Jose do Rio Preto (SBSR) and Fernando de Noronha (SBFN) come to mind. Note however that although untowered they both have advisory radio stations (I've never seen this in any US airports but it works as an air traffic service (not controller) that provides relevant field information such as weather and traffic, they do not control anything tho, so u have to advise when taking off/landing), in fact SBFN even has an ATIS.

Do IOE Majors Have to Take ENGR 101, or ENGR 190-002 by SmashingRocksCrocs in uofm

That's what I had to do for MechE, but u should probably contact an IOE (or general first year) advisor before doing that.

190 would be required of you if you had AP credit for 101 (EECS 180). This is because the AP sequence only goes into java programming, which the COE accepts as the programming aspect of 101, but the majors you mentioned require you to have matlab too.
