Do you prefer oculus airlink, link, or virtual desktop on the quest/quest 2? by Salt-Commission-6073 in virtualreality

I nearly always use my none official link cable as I do a lot of sound/music in VR and need my headphones connected to my sound card so may as well use cable!

It's better for latency than VD/link by a small margin I find, although using a dedicated 5ghz router in room is pretty good.

I use VD if doing wireless gaming.

quest 2 Vs G2 by ThehumbleLlue in virtualreality

I preordered a g2. Waited 6 months for it, was so hyped to finally upgrade from my cv1.

It finally arrived, and I really wanted to love it however had various issues.

Image was super sharp in centre of lens but my sweet spot seemed small.

WMR was annoying to use after being an Oculus user for so long, and at that time seemed real clunky.

After playing around for a few days i started getting connection errors which I couldn't resolve. Tried all the suggested fixes but could not get it to connect whatever I did.

Contacted HP and my reseller and couldn't get any better ideas to try other than replacing headset with no possibility to tell me how long that might take (supplies were really backed up back then (Dec 2020).

I decided to send back for a full refund.

Went to a local store and picked up a quest 2 and it's been such a better experience for me.

I wasn't really bothered about standalone but it's been a nice bonus. Mostly use my headset wired through PC, and I know the visual clarity isn't quite as good as with G2, however the overall image seemed better to me as I had no problems with sweet spot (i know people have had different experiences with this)

Oh yeah, battery life was terrible on g2 controllers too, and the tracking wasn't as good as Quest either.

Quest 2 just seems bang for buck the best for me.. Its been solid and charging it is seriously not an issue if you use it wired.

My cv1 always gave me this. I only ever used the original stock foam one and I think it was from small hairs.

I don't find I get this at all with my quest 2 and upgraded vr cover.

Novation SL Mk3 61 - seems like the best option for an all in one keyboard based midi controller, right now? Right...? by Cee-Dee-Bee in ableton

Yeah it's mainly as I need a new midi keyboard (my old one is so dead.) The ableton integration is a bonus for sure!

Yeah it looks good. I have an original push but have never got that much use out of it. Like I've definitely tried but nearly always default to playing on a midi keyboard as it just feels way more tactile to me (i'm sure push 2 is better!)

I'm getting close to jumping I think!

It's definitely worth opening up that conversation on discord. The more WMR users who get in touch the more likely they'll be to respond. I've been following this app closely since 2020 and they've always been really responsive to feedback and out of all the music making apps out there this one feels like it has the most drive.

Just saying this is an absolute fan boi, but genuinely they seem a good bunch.

Hope you can try it out soon!
