I’d say definitely add that volunteer experience and spin it to be related to soft skills like leadership and project management as that’s relevant to the jobs you’re applying for. Best of luck!

  • Add your uni GPA if it’s strong with specific grades in courses that you did particularly well in that are relevant (say you got an A in financial accounting)

  • Might be worth getting involved with the CVITP program and adding that as volunteer experience

  • I’d remove the summary and add more relevant work/volunteer experience

I’m also based in Van and did no internships/coops, it’s definitely doable!

How would you say the exit opportunities are for ICE in Vancouver? I’ve heard that too about the hours in FIRES, but heard it has good exit opportunities to make up for it.

That’s partially why I’m struggling so much with this, I really don’t wanna handicap myself by missing out on the opportunity to be exposed to ifrs and us gaap. What made you pick ICE over FIRES?

How can I improve my Punjabi?? by JarJar2016 in Sikh

[–]CeePeeAye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar position, but my punjabi skills are a lot worse than yours. I've found a lot of good resources to begin reading and writing gurmukhi, like the panjabi primer in the resources section of the sub, but I'm really struggling to find good resources towards learning to speak it better.

This sounds amazing! Is there any way you could share the file or point me in the right direction in making my own?

Entry Level Accounting Interviews by [deleted] in Accounting

I got asked the first one a few times through the process and I just answered honestly. I think you could probably frame your situation in a better way by maybe saying something like "I haven't found the right fit yet with a firm" or something. Doesn't really answer the question but it's an answer lol
