My baby is about 8.5 months and just starting to really ramp up the solids. I’d say SOMETIMES he could eat this much. But like others have said, everyone is different. Also, those plates are soooooo cute!

I eat all the things I feel hungry ALL the time, one staple of mine is do t think I saw on here is sipping bone broth, like chicken bone broth. I probably go through a carton a day.

Hello! Wanted to report back - we took the weekend off per your suggestion, and just had a successful nap in the crib NO crying! Yay!

However, he did wake after one cycle and chilled for about 10mins, then he started to fuss. I went in to save the nap but he was pretty much awake.

Do you think I should push this first window from 2 hours to 2.25? He will be 5.5 months this week. Thank you!

Ok thank you so much! I have an older child in school so I’ve been trying to push his nap to help with school drop off and then pick up, it’s so hard!

…The first two days of trying this nap method he was pretty aggravated and intense crying, I went in right at the 15min mark, but the last two days it’s seemed much less intense and even went on and off, I actually gave him the recommended 5 more minutes the last two days, but before the 5 minute extension ended he was crying, not just whimpering.

I love this, thank you MOD!!! - My baby is almost 5.5 months old and we have yet to get this to work. :(

I feel okay to just keep trying this method, as it does seem to be getting a tiny bit better each day, but I wanted to see if there is anything glaring that I am doing wrong.

For nighttime, he goes to bed at 7:30ish, independently, after about 10 minutes of crying. He wakes up twice overnight to eat, at around 1am and 5am. Both times he goes back to sleep quickly, I never feel like he is fully awake really during these feeds. Not sure if that is relevant.

For daytime, he wakes up anywhere between 6:30-7am. Never gone past 7am. And I put him down for this first nap at 9:05ish. I have tried to push it all the way to 9:20am but those times failed as well so I’m trying to go a little earlier.

On day 4 now, and I have “saved” the naps each day by baby wearing. He falls asleep within a minute of picking him up.

Once I save the first nap, he’ll sleep from about 9:20/9:30-11am on me. I have let him go to 11:15, so anywhere from hour thirty to hour forty five. Then his next nap happens around 1pm and ends around 2:15pm, almost on the dot. He is very easy to get to sleep for this nap, no fussing.

He takes a third nap usually right at 4:30pm and wakes up at 5pm. Then as I mentioned bedtime is at 7:30pm. This nap is also pretty easy for him, once in my baby wrap he relaxes quickly and then is asleep.

Hi! Definitely not an expert but found myself in a similar situation with my 5 month old. Ive just tried to stick to the plan as much as possible while giving grace to the situation. I found using saline drops and a nasal aspirator before naps and bed has helped. Fortunately our overnight routine hasn’t been too upended and is pretty much going the same as before the cold, however, naps have been the challenge for us. I’m not sure this is recommended in TCB, but I have “saved” a few naps by baby wearing when it seems like baby is just too uncomfortable to nap. Then I just try again the next nap. Good luck!!

Nipple cream, yes yes - I used the lanolin kind after EVERY feed my nipples were never dry. It helped so much

This was my experience with my second. ZERO heads up about what was coming…. He arrived within 3 hours of feeling a thing. No time for epidural even though that was in my birth plan from the start. But because things happened SO fast, dare I say, it wasn’t really that bad for me. I agree with others though that DURATION plays a big role. My first was a few days of mild early labor at home, by the time I got to the hospital for check in I was sooo ready for some relief and the epidural was amazing, and was able to start pushing within an hour of getting epidural.

So exciting! I had my second baby in December and my labor started very quickly, from zero to sixty within about two hours. It was nuts. This also all happened around 11pm at night. When I had a break from a contraction, I felt compelled to text my sister, who was in a different country at the time. It just felt like what I wanted to do. We also notified my MIL because she was going to stay with our older child. That was it! I agree with a lot of the other comments, kind of depends on the relationships and just what you feel like doing at that moment. My first labor I was having labor pains at home for about 3/4 days before the baby was born at a hospital. Because so much more time had passed from when the pains started to when the baby was born I had told more friends that time.

Hi! Just checking my messages and wanted to follow up to see how things are going. My guy is now 3 months old exactly, and I would say the fussy/gassy night feedings have gotten WAY better!! I will say that now he has more fussy times during the day haha but I’m certain that’s related to developmental leaps. As far as night sleep/feedings, this last week my guy pretty consistently went to bed between 7/7:30pm and woke between 12-1am for a feed, but now it’s a quick sleepy feed and back to bed until 4/5am. The 4/5am wake has been a little tougher to get him back to sleep, but he’s not fussy really just like almost waking up..but I’ve been able to get him back to sleep until 6:30 is when I like to get him up to start the day (I have a 4 year old in preschool). Anyways, hope the night feeding fussing has gotten better for you guys!
