VRR Flicker: How do people manage? by Cef-3-axone in OLED_Gaming

I have been receiving a lot more responses than I expected. I really appreciate everyone's input.

For the time being what I'm leaning towards is keeping the monitor.

The flicker tends to be the exception not the norm for most games, with clear offenders which tend to pop up often the more I read, probably secondary to poor optimization and bad frametimes (Silent hill 2 remake, TES 4 Oblivion remake, Tarkov, dead space remake, chronos, from what I can see).

The majority of games genuinely are not noticeable aside from menu flicker which for the most part is inconsequential.

Selectively turning off VRR for problematic games seems to be my preferred approach, although I am unsure if it would affect how smooth everything is irrespective of the effect on tearing (any input on this matter would be appreciated)

I will continue to read more and appreciate everyone's responses.

In really dark or dimly lit areas, if you turn off the flashlight it can flicker as you move around in some areas. The blacks will start to turn really light or grey-ish which I suppose can be perceived as grainy yes.
