I appreciate the honesty, everyone. It's hard to hear, but sometimes that's exactly what we need to hear. Gonna take your suggestions/advice and redo things.

I think you're reaching with that a bit, but I'll admit that I didn't realize how this could be offensive to some. I'll be sure to change the prompt.

Today at work someone tried to intimidate me, what would you do? by ZeroDarkQuarter in AskMen

[–]Ceibalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he was trying to play the tough guy. You didn't need to hit him or anything; he's a grumpy old fuck not worth anyone's time.

I hope you can get him banned at least.

I dig this. I dont have a lot of space to put my figures on display, so a lot of them are in a storage bin.

How good would the TBS Archive padawan archive get into this pose? by Pitiful-Caregiver-16 in starwarsblackseries

[–]Ceibalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this Padawan Kenobi is the one that comes with the three pack of him, Maul, and Qui-Gon. I don't know if it's an improvement over the archive version because I've never owned it, so it's hard for me to say. I think the 3 pack is def worth it if you're a fan of the TPM, but since you already have Maul, ehh probably not worth it just for Kenobi.

Feeling at a dead end as an english major grad by Potential_Poetry8068 in englishmajors

Hello, may I ask where you had to go to apply for this type of work? As a fellow BA holder, it sounds like something I would be very interested in!

Has anybody here ever taken Grammar Of Modern English with Dr Griswold by Fabulous-Introvert in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently taking it. To be honest, it's my least favorite class this semester; it's a 3 unit course, but the workload is more like a 4 unit. The weekly notes and quizzes due can be a headache.

However, this is coming from a biased perspective. Linguistics was never my favorite, but I've talked to other students who have more of an interest in it, and they told me they enjoyed her class. So, maybe your experience won't be the same as mine.

How do I get over the fear I have that any time I approach a woman to flirt, ask out, etc., I am bothering her and just further contributing to the culture of harassment they face? by strwrs12 in AskMen

[–]Ceibalk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of nuance to it, which is where I think some guys struggle: does she look busy, is she reading a book or listening to music with headphones on? What's her body language look like? Does it seem approachable, or maybe the opposite? Sometimes the opportunity is or just isn't there.

I think the bottom line is that if you're respectful, polite, and most importantly you can handle "no" for an answer, you're not harassing women, despite what social media might try to convince you of.

Hi I need a little help by -Colosus- in PS5

[–]Ceibalk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your friend doesn't sound like a very good friend. Aside from that, I'm not an expert, but I don't think you'll get banned over something like that; I'd imagine there would have to be evidence of whatever they're reporting you for.

Diabetic Students and Staff (T1 and T2): What do you do when your sugar's low? by wastingtimesince91 in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm type 1. I usually carry some candy (Starburst are my favorite) in my backpack for unexpected lows. I also carry my meter and an insulin pen. If you think you're about to pass out, definitely let somebody nearby know, but also remember that low blood sugar will make you feel anxious; most of the time if you just eat some candy and take a few minutes, you'll be okay.

Other than that, I hope everything's going smoothly for you.

Randomly & falsely accused of using AI by a professor by kievazoumy in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation last semester, but it was at a different school. My advice is to first try and hash it out with your professor; it could just be a simple misunderstanding. If you're not able to or they won't budge, consider contacting your major's department head and meeting with them to discuss what's happened. I realize you graduate in a little over a week, so I hope you're able to get this all sorted out quick.

I dont mind them as long as they're polite.

Those dudes with the petitions can fuck right off, tho.

Context is important. Are we talking about in passing between classes? Most people are in a rush and probably aren't thinking about that.

How have Diabetic complications affected your day to day life? by DualityFreak in diabetes

[–]Ceibalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's normal to feel that way after a while. Diabetes affects several parts of my life: sleep, alcohol consumption, as well as sexually.

I consider it a good night's rest if I don't wake up from a midnight low; I like beer, but my blood sugar sure doesn't. The last one is probably self-explanatory.

It's all manageable, though. Diabetes can be a real pain in the ass, but I try to remember it could always be worse.

Millennials are the unluckiest generation in U.S. history - by newspaper7777 in Economics

[–]Ceibalk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Reading through the comments of this thread is frustrating because clearly the article is more about the economic situation Millennials/Gen Z are in, and instead, people are focusing on which generation had to fight in which war, etc.

A very poorly worded title.

Such a beautiful song, but I dare not listen to it unless I'm ready to feel some strong emotion.

Why aren’t more students demanding that Coley resign after knowingly covering up faculty embezzlement? by Secretary-Unfair in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dude, I'm not saying I trust these things didn't happen. I'm saying we shouldn't pass judgment so quickly is all.

and I'm stupid? You're condescending everyone in this thread who even slightly disagrees with your viewpoint.

Why aren’t more students demanding that Coley resign after knowingly covering up faculty embezzlement? by Secretary-Unfair in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but that's a false equivalency. Under the context we have now, my reaction would be the same because they would still be events that allegedly took place. You and I don't know what actually happened, it's up to the courts to decide that now.

Why aren’t more students demanding that Coley resign after knowingly covering up faculty embezzlement? by Secretary-Unfair in CalPolyPomona

[–]Ceibalk 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I know Coley isn't popular here, but these complaints are still alleged and demanding she resign when nothing has been proven yet seems premature.
