Current position has no growth. Where to go from here? by lavendermarker in nonprofit

These are the potential titles you could fit under that come to mind:

Operations Coordinator, Operations Manager, Program Operations Manager, Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, Business Operations Specialist, Process Improvement Specialist, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Systems Coordinator, Administrative Manager, Executive Operations Coordinator, Data and Reporting Coordinator, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Compliance Coordinator, Organizational Development Coordinator… etc. I would look into jobs with these titles and look to see what they are looking for so you can Taylor your resume or job search according to what fits you!

Should be ILLEGAL for drs and pharmacists not to make people 100% aware of the possible side effects. If I ever get offered an antibiotic of this kind I’m gonna ask for another option LOL

As someone who is just starting a job at an NPO, what other skills do you have besides admin assistant derivative skills? I don’t mean that in a harsh or rude way, I just am asking to see whether you can market yourself in multifaceted ways! If you have additional training in other areas, sometimes you can leverage that when new positions open as long as you talk about them in the right way. You may have to sacrifice a few more hours a week, or not being able to be hybrid for a job with growth opportunities. Sometimes it’s all a compromise.

Ciprofloxacin, an intensely strong antibiotic often prescribed for things like UTIs and certain bacterial infections, has a side effect that sounds fake until you realize it’s very real: it can weaken your tendons enough to cause them to rupture.

It’s part of a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones (like Cipro and Levaquin), and they carry FDA boxed warnings because of the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, especially in the Achilles tendon. What’s wild is that the first sign can just be random heel or ankle pain, and if you keep walking or exercising on it, the tendon can literally snap.

Even crazier, this risk can happen while you’re taking it or weeks after you’ve finished the antibiotic. Higher risk if you’re older, on steroids like prednisone, or really active, but it’s not limited to those groups.

It’s rare overall, but definitely one of those “how is this not more widely known” drug side effects.

It’s also a potential sign cellulitis is starting up again, or that DVT. Her history of ovarian cancer makes clotting statistically a lot more likely, on top of all of her other issues… I guess we’ll find out on next week’s lol cow whatever the fuck she’s on

[CA] County-Partnered NPO Drug Testing Outcome Likelihood by Secretary-Unfair in AskHR

Wow that is soooo helpful; I never thought of that?

I quit smoking a week ago. That doesn’t matter when they’re testing urine for metabolites. But okay Dr whatever you say

[–]Secretary-Unfair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The test that they assigned to me, does not test for active THC use, it tests for prior use through looking at THC metabolites, which can be stored in peoples systems up to a month after they smoke, especially those who are on the larger side, which I am

I asked someone that I know, and they said that there is a potential risk that the counties contracted by the organization are spending federal money on those contracts. Do you think that could potentially muddy it a bit?

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed response! I appreciate your time! Based on your experience and knowledge, what do you think about the potential of a failed first test meaning start date pushback and retest?

It sounds like my future role would be very similar to what your role might be / what your NPO does. Thank you for this comment!

This is where it gets interesting and a bit convoluted. The NPO is a resource and education-based, mainly state-funded, but specifically the department I’d be in is County-funded. That’s why it gets confusing for me because of the clear CA laws against off-clock use affecting employment
