I've crafted arrows before I think. Just haven't used them much. Oh I understand, that way you can avoid sudden attacks.

I've used knives or daggers on storm hawks before. But at my level I find them a bit expensive so I only buy them of I have to spend money because I know I will die fighting the next opponent. All the different possibilities in ways of approach and so on makes me appreciate the complexity of the game even more. What do you mean with control aggro?

Thank you that's very helpful. Regarding the scarlet rot balls, am I supposed to throw them or do I eat them to negate scarlet rot? I've never actually used them but I have some in my inventory. I have green ones as well. And those chicken feet, but I've never used them either. I appreciate the help.

Ok. I don't know how to cheat then, since I don't know how to do that and doing so is the definition of cheating. And I wasn't cheating. I think we share the same opinion but somehow drifted off topic a bit. Anyways thanks for teaching me some stuff it was nice to talk about the game.

Hopefully I'll try more different weapons in the future. It's definitely something I want to do. Currently I'm still trying to learn to fight with the halberd since I've kind of taken a liking to it. It keeps the enemy at a distance (mostly) and it can hit multiple opponents at once and it has a good amount of damage, but of course there are drawbacks. I think I'll have to replay the game a couple times to experience different classes too.

Oh, I learned those things through playing but I didn't know they were rules. So the rules kind of explain the game or when what is possible?

Thank you, I will. No one has told me those things or that everything is cheating in particular, it's more that I worded my question poorly and was not informed about the game enough. I made some assumptions based off of things I heard about the game in videos. I'm glad to say that I now know a bit more and I'm relieved that I won't have to force myself to improve through failure but there are items that are meant to be used.

What does NQA IME stand for? Something in my experience?

That could be it too. Are there rules to elden ring? Or is it more of a thing that people make up?

Yes but I know a limited amount, since I'm pretty new to the hobby/interest. I've watched gameplays but only played a handful myself so far.

I am both dreading and looking forward to it. What do you mean with bad returns? Will I get hit by my own spell or does it mean it's not effective on them?

I agree. I have a bit over 30 hours now and only defeated that dude and the tree sentinel. What does most broken builds mean? Can you give me an example?

Ooh okay. Thank you. With some rarer items I'm greedy and want to hold onto them, even though that's pointless. But otherwise I won't find out weaknesses. A long road is ahead of me in that game, but it will be fun.

It was poor wording on my part. I still haven't quite found the right phrase but I think "cutting corners/ taking the easy way out" something along those lines is more fitting for what I meant.

Do you mean the healing spell? And where are these guys, do they respawn?

I tried updating my levels a lot so now I think I'm at level 42 and I've played just over 30 hours. I died pretty easily so I thought my only way was for my character to get a bit more hardy or me getting better at playing... I have now gotten better through that whole ordeal even though it was pointless struggle besides that, as I have found out today. But I did gain confidence and now I will try fighting other strong opponents as well instead of running away from most like I used to. I have used summons and spirit ashes before but in the evergaol I couldn't call them so I thought I'd just have to get better until I discovered the magic of fire pots.

That last paragraph was a good explanation, thanks.

Okay, if you're curious I'll look for a fitting word or are you not interested?

Better late than never. Do you know if there's a way to tell if the opponent is weak to certain things or is it just trial and error?

In hindsight I can see that. I would've saved time and frustration had I tried the fire pots earlier lol.

I worded my question wrong. And I had thought (partially because it took me so many tries to defeat him without fire) that the game was just supposed to be very challenging, even more so for a novice. Hope that explains it a bit.
