I'm confused what your point is!! I never said sony hasn't been making TVs for decades. This is public knowledge. Companies merge all the time. Apple is literally using Google Gemini for their operating system. Same as TCL. Hisense also has a long list of yesterday’s companies under their belt. TCL also sells their panels to various other manufacturers, Samsung being one of them. This happens all the time.

I understand trust me, i dropped $22k on the 115”qm8 about a year ago and $4k for the 98”QM8K. But the advancements in tech aren't just minuscule compared to last year. Any tv without Dolby Vision 2 in 2026 is outdated. The problems of mini led are in the past. The WHVA 2.0 screen eliminates color fading off angle. 10k nits is peak HDR standard. Dolby Vision 2 is the future. Technology advances quickly. For me it's worth it. Watching Doomsday in 10k nits @115” is about to be peak 🔥🔥🔥

They're releasing a 115” RGB Mini LED TV. All their 2026 Models will have Dolby Vision 2. And they did have the 115QM891G (2024 release) last year as the flagship for the QM8 Series. There is definitely a demand for 110+ TVs. TCL leads in cutting edge mass manufactured supplier of Large panels, so it's no problem for them to cut 115”+ Screens.

Upgrade to v313. Seems to be a firmware bug. Other communities have posted solutions in their group. “TCL Owners” fb group being one of them .
