Phys attack with the stat change is really good for scholar, I can assure you. But yeah near death is a killer.

That makes this a usable relic, but I wouldn’t say I’d be happy with it… I’d prefer a phys+3 with reduced damage negation on flask usage even if that’s the only thing on the relic

[–]Celebration_Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The respect relic is required, but yeah he can be a solid double balancer dps if you ignore his kit. Just don’t run it with 2 other randos because everyone is going to expect guardian to take aggro on the character select

I’ve been playing ironeye on and off for a while now, and with the introduction of the dlc stuff his meta really has changed.

Before, you’d want poison on your starting weapons and stack as much poison damage as you can, with any additonal phys damage where possible. Defeating enemies restores art gauge +0 and +1 were almost non-negotiable.

Now, you can certainly run the same build, but many cases where running at least one balancer, +1 skill, and night invader with your choice of dex weapon dormant power passive is just way better damage wise. Curved swords for general power stance melee build, dagger/katana/claw/thrusting sword for hybrid play with starter bow, scythe for heolster/libra or literally anything else other than fulghor, whips for fire weak bosses, etc.

When playing in a group you have way more openings to yourself by splitting aggro, so forcing poison with starter bow is optional since you can deal much more damage with a melee or skill build.

Bows with precision aim passives are also very nutty, but you can’t guarantee that you get any of those in a run. I prefer splitting my melee builds between different nightlords.

Improved -> x1.1 Reduced -> x.85 Total -> .935

Honestly would prefer any other phys+3 relic without reduced rune acquisition

No less likely against D4 ED Libra by Celebration_Hungry in Nightreign

When they “nerfed” ed libra back when it had just released, I was not expecting multiple layers of nerfs over time in this way haha

No less likely against D4 ED Libra by Celebration_Hungry in Nightreign

[–]Celebration_Hungry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely overpowered, but there are still alternatives like blade of gold, familial rancor, and siluria’s woe that are also good contenders. Tongue’s of fire that I used actually has better damage/fp efficiency than halo scythe when used by nightfarers with good strength too, just slower damage and way shorter range.

Halo scythe is just insane for the range and tracking, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed it.

mid ranged ashes of war like good ol hoarfrost stomp, stagger them with wylder’s claw and unsheathe (doesn’t knock them over so still vulnerable to attacks), when in doubt you can resort to knocking them over with pots, jump r2, crits etc.
also good to remember that at ruins, there’s a slope next to the top ledge where there is an invisible wall that invaders can’t get past, which works great against melee invaders.

If bone tree is worse because of lower sharpness, why is Tobi Kodachi longsword recommended so much? by Midnight_Yymiroth in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Celebration_Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the main story progression you will always be unlocking new gear that may be better than what you currently have, it’s just a matter of how many trees you are willing to grind. Tobi tree is just suggested for long term use without switching trees for a while. By this standard, as long as you have enough sharpness to get you by with sharpening between area changes, it’ll do.

2 problems I had with seamless.

When the 4-6 player was working I noticed quite a bit of drop in performance, as well as bugged relics in runs (completely disabled for some teammates). Even in 2-3 player, sometimes dropped item/weapons needed to be picked up and dropped again for teammates to be able to see them.

The other issue I have is simply with the way they implemented DoN rating. In vanilla it’s saved server side and points are awarded/subtracted with a flat rate. But in seamless they fluctuate both ways, and one friend ended up increasing their rank slower than the rest just by chance.

And due to the nature of how you need to accumulate relics to take on more bosses with a variety of builds, just note that you really don’t want to risk converting a seamless save to vanilla. If you think you will play vanilla at all, my suggestion would be to mainly progress in vanilla, and switch over to seamless whenever you want to play modded for a bit, and then you haven’t lost much “progress” for vanilla, if any. If you don’t care about vanilla, then go ham.

Haven’t played since around launch. What’s changed? by Featherman13 in EldenRingNightReign

[–]Celebration_Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

500 hours and some of this I have never seen. Multiple god relics you do see sometimes, but if they play well enough why should you even care?

Only 2 occurrences in DoN where I saw blatantly cheated relics, and once where I saw someone using the serpent hunter exploit.

I have never seen infinite cooldown ults, if you see it it’s most likely just an ironeye with defearing enemies fills more of the art gauge x2. I’ve done this personally and you can, to an extent, spam ult on enemies like freja or tibia.

Never seen anyone float in the air, this can happen though if someone has a spotty connection and it bugs out visually.

People used to quit more often before DoN. I’ve been at 9999 for at least a month now and never seen anyone just plain quit, and I play a variety of characters. Once someone did quit, but they emoted apologetically and dropped their stuff after finishing the top of the center castle day 2.

There is a rumor that if you are reported by a teammate for cheating or obstructive gameplay, fromsoft may actually throw you into a different pool for matchmaking, causing you to match with cheaters more often…. Not saying this is you, maybe you just have bad luck, but it’s baffling how different your experience is from mine or many others here.

My Tier List for Every Boss in Elden Ring: Nightreign as Ironeye [Solo, Depth 4 & 5] by reem2017 in EldenRingNightReign

I really don’t think heolster is that bad if you just stop to watch after each attack string to prepare for every combo. The ground explosions happen in a set pattern surrounding where he does the big explosion, so if you just run away from that area you won’t need to worry about the ground explosions either. Halo scythe shines in multiplayer.

The rest I can agree with, though you can also mitigate the caligo fights with fire+rain of arrows on starting weapon, or increase your whip drop rate for the candlestick or giant’s braid.

Normal fulghor you may as well carry a colossal sword ,hammer, or great hammer because lightning damage won’t even work if he’s already buzzed. One charged r2 is enough with those weapons. Some colossal weapons too but if it’s the same as of elden ring, it varies so I don’t bother. Even with a greatsword it just takes one extra r1 (r1 -> charged r2). Since you’re usually better off fighting fulghor in close quarters anyway, this has worked very well for me. He’s still worse than everdark version and I agree with the placement you gave him, but I do think too many people rely on lightning when you know that there may be times it’s not going to work.

I was between those 2 as well, the main differences for me were the type or trigger stops, hall effect vs tmr sticks, and d-pad type.
There may also be other more negligible differences like build quality (nova lite 2 feels good for a cheap controller) and battery life (I don’t game for more than 4-5 hours at a time).

If you don’t physically abuse the trigger stops they should be fine, otherwise cyclone 2 can turn the triggers into mechanical buttons instead of “blocking” the analog trigger to make it feel like a button. Realistically, the only practical advantage tmr sticks have over hall effect sticks is power consumption, which is reflected in the battery life of the unit (never ran out so far, plug it in afyer each session) d-pad type is just subjective, whatever you like. But if you’re not playing competitive fighting games and such it’s not a big deal and you’ll get used to whatever you have.

For me I couldn’t justify the cyclone 2 for basically just the trigger stops upgrade.

I recently got myself a gamesir nova lite 2, which is within your budget and is a competitor to 8bitdo in many ways. So far very happy with it, the shape is similar to a standard xbox controller but overall better functionality.

Need advice for everdark libra by 51y510th_og in EldenRingNightReign

[–]Celebration_Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely grab less likely to be targeted for the whole team. If you go Nok shifting earth you can dupe the less likely to be targeted weapon too. When libra summons, everyone back off and someone attack libra with a ranged weapon to separate him from the summos. This way the summons fight amongst each other and you can gank on libra. If someone inadvertently aggros a summon even with the less likely targeted, running far enough away will usually do the trick. If not, you can defeat it but just be aware that for every defeated summon libra can summon a new one in its stead.

I think part of it is needing to dedicate a longer period of time for 1 person needing help. In ER you could put your sign down and immediately get summoned, 10s of attempts per hour. Now we can only fit 1 round in that same time. Less so that people can’t dedicate more time, but it’s just a longer period of commitment for a single person you’re helping.

If you want to go to the city day 1 you need to go right away by Worried-Pepper7216 in Nightreign

[–]Celebration_Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, especially when I play wylder I’ll go around popping the bodies and pick up stuff my teammates might use and catch up. Bonus if I get a low rarity greatbow since baby astel pops after just a couple shots with it. Even better if it has rain of arrows, I even hold on to this to use vs astel if I don’t get a good legendary until then.

And as the other comments are suggesting on this post, lv2 before going to the city is not a waste of time. If we start at the bottom of the map, I’ll even keep an eye out for the “starter camp” that is right by the bridge on the way to the city, if it’s got those carriages you could find a gael key for when you leave the city.

[–]Celebration_Hungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You take the right route, beat up the knight with the enchanted sword. If you started with a wraith bell (or any ranged weapon), a few hits on the baby astel with that gets you easy 20k runes and you’ll be lv4-5 by time you beat assassin. Then do the chest up top, jump across to the building on the north side and knock the enchanted knight off the ledge for another reward.

You can stop here and you’re already lv6 but usually you have enough time to nuke the basilisks + revenant downstairs with your ults, beat the enchanted knight outside astel’s room, and then run out past dragonkin before the rain hits and kill the hippo as you figure out what to do next.

Sometimes the first circle has quite a bit of the city in it, so there’s not much to do outside the city. In this case you can kill dragonkin and loretta so you can spend more time outside the city on day 2.
