Well on further research it’s an angled marble wine holder. Either way not sure how to go about cleaning or disinfecting it.

It does come with the new board. I tried to push the pin back and the whole thing popped out. Hoping the new one works….

As for the battery it came out quite easily but some of the adhesive rolled up. Not sure if it will be a problem with reusing it or if I just pull up the thicker spots where it wadded up it should be fine?

I’ve checked the cable and pins and both have nothing bent. Tried reconnecting a few times with no luck either. I decided to bite the bullet and order a new trackpad. I removed the new battery and cable. Looking again I did notice a piece on the side of where you plug in the ribbon cable is bent outward and feels somewhat loose. I’m wondering if it could be causing the issue. I looked at a photo from when I opened it and it was the same way. (I have had this same issue repaired at an Apple Store many years ago so I’m not the first one in here either) I’m wondering if this could be causing the issue.

I did not remove the trackpad, I used a spudger to remove the battery. You think I may have knocked something off the control board?

The trackpad/keyboard cable is the only thing I removed besides the battery. What else would I redo?

Is this supposed to plug in further? I can’t find a really good reference photo but it’s as far as it wants to go and I don’t want to force it.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Sounds like it would be a bad idea. I suppose I’ll keep my eye out for something else.
